A Reimagined Singapore Flyer Experience

Starting 8 August 2025, the Singapore Flyer unveils a fully integrated 75-minute journey in celebration of Singapore’s 60th year of independence. Guests can look forward to a transformed Time Capsule attraction, now a two-storey, multisensory prelude featuring cinematic storytelling, interactive exhibits, and a personalised web app—before soaring 165 metres above the city skyline aboard the iconic Singapore Flyer.

An Immersive Journey Through Singapore’s Story

The journey begins at Time Capsule, where visitors travel through centuries guided by R65, a time-travelling robot. Created in collaboration with Untitled Project, the experience uses full-screen video animations, projection mapping, and LiDAR technology to recreate Singapore’s past.

Time Capsule Zones (Level 1)

Dawn of Singapura

Embark on a panoramic adventure alongside Sang Nila Utama, a prince from Palembang, on his perilous voyage to and dramatic founding of the island of Singapura.

Maritime Silk Road

Singapore’s prime location along the Maritime Silk Road established it as a vital hub for global trade. Step into the past and meet two friendly traders, Ping An and Ahmed, who will reveal the treasures and tales that once flowed through this vibrant port.

People of the Sea

Meet the Orang Laut – the People of the Sea – Singapore’s original inhabitants who helped establish the Kingdom of Singapura alongside Prince Sang Nila Utama. Hear their story as told through the eyes of one of their own.

Badang the Magnificent

Be enthralled by the legendary tale of Badang, a fisherman who gained immense strength and lifted the Singapore Stone, earning him the title of the Protector of Singapura.

Island Tales

Uncover the enchanting myths of Singapura, from the legendary swordfish attack at Redhill to the origins of Pulau Ubin, Kusu Island, and Sentosa.

The Singapore River

As you meander along the vital artery of Singapore’s economy, interact with fish on the river floor and spot fishermen, hawkers, performers, and children by the bustling banks. Marvel at the transformation of attap houses into vibrant shophouses, tracing Singapore’s riverside evolution from the 1800s to the 1960s.

Under One Sky

Step into nostalgia with the iconic chess-tile concrete table and stools – once a familiar sight at void decks – set before a sweeping 300-degree curved projection wall chronicling Singapore’s transformation into a modern metropolis.

Time Capsule Zones (Level 2)

Peranakan Walk

Delve into Peranakan heritage through dynamic exhibits, from a multilayered lightbox and overhead kaleidoscopes to fractal mirrors and towering fabric panels showcasing intricate Malay batik prints donned by early settlers and Peranakans.

Red Dot

Multiculturalism is the heartbeat of Singapore. Immerse yourself in an all-encompassing display of the diverse cultural festivals and celebrations in Singapore, brought to life through projection walls and mirrors that surround you in a colourful visual feast.

Garden City Playground

Discover the many facets of Singapore’s identity through interactive games and visual showcase, where a spectacular floral display bursts into bloom every few minutes.

Personalised Web App

Guests can enhance the experience via the Time Capsule web app and complimentary WiFi, unlocking life-sized characters and historical anecdotes using QR codes.

From Ground to Sky: Soar Above the City

The immersive ground-level experience transitions seamlessly into the sky as guests board the Singapore Flyer, soaring 165 metres above the city and unlocking deeper insights into nearby landmarks with the FLYER360 mobile app powered by augmented reality.

Entry to Time Capsule is included in every admission ticket, transforming the Singapore Flyer journey from a 30-minute ride into an integrated 75-minute adventure through Singapore’s inspiring evolution – from a resilient, humble settlement to the multicultural, world-class city it is today.

Whimsical Reality Gallery

Whimsical Reality, the permanent art gallery at Singapore Flyer curated by acclaimed local artist Ah Guo, will unveil a commemorative triptych titled “A Little Whimsical Salute” to mark Singapore’s Diamond Jubilee. The three distinct yet interconnected works, rendered in Ah Guo’s signature watercolour style, illustrate Singapore’s transformation across three periods: the 1960s to 1970s, 1980s to 1990s, and 2000s and beyond.
