Boon Lay Glade features 3 playgrounds and a refurbished 7-storey fire station tower that pay tribute to the former Jurong Fire Station.

Situated at the site of the former Jurong Fire Station Tower at Boon Lay Drive, the new HDB BTO estate at Boon Lay Glade pays tribute to our civil defence by having a fire-station theme all around the area, including Fire Station themed playgrounds for little ones to have fun at!
7-Storey Jurong Fire Station Tower

The Jurong Fire Station relocated to 22 Jurong West Street 26 in 2017 but the planners of the estate has retained the original 7-storey tower where part of the tower will house a heritage gallery celebrating the history of the Fire Station and it will also feature 4-story climbing facilities on two faces of the tower.
While the tower is not yet open as at Aug 2024, it proves to be a great sight as we play at the playgrounds at the foot of the tower which are also themed to look like fire engines and a fire station.
Fire Station Playgrounds
From our visit, we note that there are 3 playgrounds in this area. However, 2 of them are not yet available for play and we will update when we get news of their opening.
The currently opened playground gets a big thumbs up from both kids and adults for its play options and theme!
Located at Blk 238A, the fire station playground features a play tower that resembles a Fire Station with 2 twirly slides, a fireman pole, and many climbing elements for little ones to climb and pretend to be fireman on the way to a rescue mission!
Sliding down the tower, kids can run over to the beautifully designed bright red fire engine to continue with their rescue mission! The vehicle is filled with many elements for play, including 2 slides, and many interactive boards for young ones to meddle and play around with!
Other interesting play elements at the playground include a trampoline, a unique opposite-sides see-saw, and an interactive competitive pedal bike where parents and children can compete to see who cycles the fastest!
Playgrounds for Younger Ones - Not Yet Opened
The other 2 playgrounds that are not yet opened are a toddler's playground next to the Fire Station Tower with smaller play options like a smaller fire engine.
And the other is located at Blk 239 and looks like it is for young ones too.
What To Bring
The playground features seats around but not much shelter. So do remember to bring shades or umbrellas. As always water bottles and insect repellents are a must with an optional change of clothes or towel to dry off after play.
