Go on a Historical Journey at Tulipmania 2025

This isn't just about admiring pretty flowers (though there will be plenty of that!). This year, Tulipmania at Gardens by the Bay takes on a historical twist, showcasing incredible recreations of iconic treasures with roots in Türkiye, just like the tulip itself!

Imagine walking amongst a sea of colourful tulips and then coming face-to-face with a nearly 6-metre tall recreation of the legendary Trojan Horse! Little ones (and grown-ups!) will be captivated by the tale of the epic Battle of Troy and the clever strategy that led to its downfall.

But the historical journey doesn't stop there. Prepare to be amazed by a recreation of Göbekli Tepe, the world's oldest known temple and a significant archaeological discovery. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, dating back to around 9,600 BC, predates even Stonehenge!

It's a fantastic opportunity to introduce children to the wonders of ancient civilisations and spark their curiosity about the past. They can marvel at the massive stone pillars crafted by prehistoric people, offering a glimpse into a world long before metal tools or pottery.

Beyond these grand historical icons, families can also admire recreations of the unique Mardin Houses, well-preserved hillside homes from Türkiye dating back to 8,000 BC, and learn about the fascinating story behind the sacred Pool of Abraham.

What Tulip Blooms Can You Expect?

Prepare for a visual feast! Tulipmania 2025 boasts over 30 varieties of tulips, showcasing a stunning array of colours and unique forms. Keep an eye out for:

  • Tulipa ‘Ballerina’: Elegant lily-shaped blooms in bright orange.
  • Tulipa ‘Pretty Woman’: Vibrant red, goblet-shaped flowers with pointed petals.
  • Tulipa ‘White Liberstar’: Graceful white crown tulips with distinctive, curved petals.

Adding to the floral splendour are other colourful blooms native to Türkiye, including hyacinths, fritillaria, hollyhocks, alliums, chamomiles, and dianthus, creating a truly immersive experience.

More Than Just Flowers: Engaging Activities for Families

Tulipmania offers more than just visual delights. Families can also enjoy:

  • Student Mosaic Art: Admire beautiful mosaic artworks created by students from Chua Chu Kang Secondary School, inspired by traditional Turkish designs.
  • Ebru Art Workshops: On April 18th and 19th, visitors can participate in traditional Turkish paper marbling workshops led by a master artisan. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on cultural experience.
  • Win a Trip to Türkiye: As an added bonus, visitors have the chance to win a pair of return air tickets to any destination in Türkiye, courtesy of Turkish Airlines.
