Admission: Free

Light to Night Singapore 2026 marks the National Gallery Singapore’s 10th edition of the festival and will be extended across 4 vibrant weekends for the first time from 9-31 Jan 2026.

With the theme of “The Power in Us,” the festival returns to celebrate the collective strength that emerges when people and communities come together to reflect, converse and create with the help of art. This edition explores how the power of unity can shape shared experiences and spark new possibilities. Audiences can look forward to interactive art installations, façade projections, performances and programmes that invite them to take part in the festival in unexpected ways.

2. Celebrate Pongal at Indian Heritage Centre with Fun, Culture & Family Activities

Venue: Indian Heritage Centre
Dates: 10, 11, 17 and 18 Jan 2026

The Indian Heritage Centre’s (IHC) annual Pongal Open House 2026 will take place across two fun-filled weekends on 10, 11, 17 and 18 January! This year’s Open House transforms the IHC into a vibrant festive village, highlighting the significance of community during the harvest celebrations.

Families can expect live cultural performances, where visitors can soak in the festive energy and cultural rhythms of Pongal. Watch tradition come alive through a live pottery demonstration, and enjoy a heartwarming community effort as seniors gather to hand-paint pongal pots for the IHC lobby showcase.

3. Splash Into the Year of the Horse with Mala-Themed Fun at Wild Wild Wet & Downtown East

Venue: Wild Wild Wet and Downtown East
Date: 8 Jan to 3 Mar 2026
Admission: Free with ticketed experiences

Gallop into the year of the Horse with a flavour-packed Lunar New Year (LNY) Mala Celebration, from 8 January to 3 March 2026 across Wild Wild Wet and Downtown East (DE). Visitors can look forward to a playful blend of Mala-inspired waterpark fun and installations, photo moments, and exclusive festive promotions inspired by Singapore’s iconic love for all things Mala.

To set the tone for the celebrations, the beloved Shiok River has been transformed into a cheeky “Mala hotpot”, featuring life-sized floats and loungers that take after your favourite Mala ingredients – think lotus root, crabsticks, streaky meat slices, cheese tofu, prawns, and more – adding a humorous twist to the waterpark’s signature currents. The quirky atmosphere continues with giant Mala-themed photo installations (to the likes of soup base packets, plum juice, instant noodle packs, and more) around the park, and even a dry Mala Ball Pit perfect for younger guests outside the Tsunami Pool.

To celebrate the festivities, the first 50 Wild Wild Wet guests daily can redeem exclusive Mala-themed sticker sets featuring Flumi, the adorable Wild Wild Wet new mascot.

5. Celebrate Lion Dance Traditions at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre’s Vibrant ‘Tradition in Motion’ Exhibition

Venue: Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (Concourse Level 1)
Date: Now – 30 Apr 2026, 9am – 10pm
Admission: Free admission

Just in time for Chinese New Year, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) presents 'Tradition in Motion: Singapore’s Lion Dance Heritage' — a vibrant exhibition that traces the past, present, and evolving future of lion dance in Singapore. Families can explore over 50 artefacts, photographs, posters, and figurines, offering a rich look at how this traditional art form has grown and adapted through generations.

A highlight for children and adults alike is the striking display of eight lion heads, representing different styles practised locally — from the well-known Southern Lion Dance to rarer forms such as the Hainan Lion and Fujian Green Lion. The exhibition is organised into three thematic zones, beginning with the history and customs of lion dance, including an up-close look at the intricate craft of lion head making by Singapore’s last lion head craftsman.

Visitors can also discover how local troupes keep the tradition alive today, before ending with pop-culture influences that show lion dance’s continued relevance.
