Mid-Autumn festivities come alive this week with dazzling lanterns, cultural performances, and family-friendly fun. Celebrate at Gardens by the Bay, enjoy Chinatown’s expanded street light-up with captivating installations and a mass lantern walk, or head to Jurong Lake Gardens for immersive lantern displays, cultural showcases, music performances, and more!
Apart from Mid-Autumn celebrations, there’s more to look forward to! Experience the Festival of Lights at the Indian Heritage Centre’s Deepavali Open House 2025, featuring hands-on crafts, vibrant installations, and live performances. Don’t miss the AirAsia Kallang Race Village, where aviation-inspired games and entertainment await the whole family—admission is free and open to all!
1. Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 at Gardens by the Bay

Mid-Autumn Festival at Gardens by the Bay pays tribute to how the festival has been celebrated through the years in Singapore. Join beloved local character Ang Ku Kueh Girl™ and her friends as they take you through how the country has evolved from humble fishing village to high-rise HDB living through the illuminated beauty of large-scale lantern sets.
Don’t miss two special lantern displays that represent a beautiful celebration of international friendship. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea’s lantern commemorates 50 years of Singapore-Korea relations with the Merlion and Haetae – the latter a mythical guardian embodying justice and fairness. Shanghai’s YUYUAN Inc. – the company behind the iconic annual Yuyuan Lantern Festival in Shanghai – presents a lantern inspired by the Chinese tale Zhuangzi’s Dream of the Butterfly, in the 35th year of Singapore-China ties.
In addition to the lantern displays, visitors can look forward to an extensive lineup of cultural performances and workshops, as well as an array of delectable food and fun carnival games.
2. Soak Up the Festive Spirit at Chinatown’s Mid-Autumn Festival 2025

As Singapore marks its 60th year of independence, the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 returns with a vibrant celebration of light, heritage and community spirit. From 7 Sep to 20 Oct, Chinatown will transform into a festive precinct filled with handcrafted displays, community activities and cultural programmes that showcase our rich multiculturalism and Chinese traditions.
The Official Street Light-Up and Opening Ceremony will take place on 18 September 2025 at 6pm at Kreta Ayer Square. This year's centrepiece is a striking 8-metre-tall centrepiece showcasing the number 60, flanked by rabbits, mooncakes, orchids and lanterns against the Singapore skyline.
Beyond the lanterns, families can also expect programmes and activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival!
3. Enjoy a Magical Mid-Autumn Evening of Lanterns, Music & Culture at Lights by the Lake 2025

Lights by the Lake promises and exciting evening out at Jurong Lake Gardens! From spectacular lantern displays, electrifying cultural showcases & music performances (including crowd-favourite Rockestra®!), captivating lantern riddles, a food street featuring delectable F&B to exciting partner programmes, be enchanted this Mid-Autumn Festival at Lights by the Lake 2025!
This year's immersive lantern displays unite the treasured Chinese tale of Journey to the West with the beloved Mid-Autumn Festival tradition. Walk amongst glowing scenes of Sun Wukong's tale of loyalty and transformation, unfolding beneath the same moon that guides families together during their autumn reunions
Immerse yourself in captivating performances by talented local artists and vibrant cultural showcases celebrating our community's creativity. With fringe activities happening on selected nights, let the rhythm and energy of diverse musical traditions enhance your magical evening under the lanterns.
4. Experience the Festival of Lights at the Indian Heritage Centre’s Deepavali Open House 2025

Did you know that “Deepavali” means “a row of lights” in Tamil? This reflects the tradition of lighting lamps during the festival to signify the victory of light over darkness and is why it is often referred to as the “Festival of Lights”.
The annual Indian Heritage Centre Deepavali OPEN HOUSE returns from 27 September to 19 October 2025! Inspired by the colours and beauty of flowers, this year’s celebrations feature hands-on crafts, vibrant installations, immersive workshops, LIVE performances, and a bustling festive bazaar. Enjoy four weekends of festivities with FREE museum entry and extended opening hours till 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Registration and fees are required for selected programmes.
5. Take Flight into Family Fun at the AirAsia Kallang Race Village

Venue: OCBC Square, Singapore Sports Hub

You don’t have to be a runner to join in the fun! On 27 September 2025, the AirAsia Kallang Race Village at OCBC Square will be buzzing with family-friendly activities, and it’s open to the public.
Kids can bounce to their hearts’ content on crowd-favourite inflatables, including a specially designed airplane bouncy castle. Families can also test their skills in a quirky luggage packing timed challenge, while enjoying a lively line-up of stage performances, featuring percussion ensembles Bloco Singapura and Novobloco.
With its aviation-inspired games and entertainment, the Race Village promises plenty of photo-worthy moments and an energetic carnival atmosphere. Whether you’re cheering someone on, or simply looking for a fun weekend outing with the kids, this is the perfect chance to spend the day outdoors soaking up the excitement.
