Making its first stop in Asia, Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue is arriving at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve this April.

This isn't just a walk-through gallery; it’s a high-energy, "phygital" (physical + digital) adventure. Families will step into the shoes of heroes to navigate a one-hour story-driven quest. Whether you are a seasoned pro or have never played the game, the experience is designed to be intuitive, collaborative, and, most importantly, a fantastic way for the kids to burn off some creative energy.

Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue runs from 24 Apr to 13 Sep 2026 at Green Canvas located within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Admission is by allocated timeslots with 15-minute intervals.

2. Set Sail for Discovery at Singapore Maritime Week 2026 at Marina South Pier

Venue: Marina South Pier
Date: 25-26 April 2026
Admission: Free

If you’re planning a meaningful weekend with the kids, Singapore Maritime Week 2026 is worth adding to your list! Happening at Marina South Pier, this annual event brings together a series of public activities that let families explore Singapore’s maritime world in a fun and accessible way.

There will be plenty of activities where you can explore and gain deeper insights into the maritime world. One of the biggest highlights is the chance to get up close to a range of operational vessels. From patrol boats to specialised crafts, you can take your family to take a closer look at these vessels and discover more about life at sea.

Also families can expect activities like face painting, caricature drawing, snack booths (including ice cream and fresh coconut drinks) and interactive stations.

Do note that slots are limited and may require prior booking, so it’s best to plan ahead!

3. Dive Beneath the Surface at The Artground @ OHV’s WonderGround: A Journey Beneath Your Feet

Venue: 7 Holland Village Way #01-20 One Holland Village, Singapore 275748
Opening Hours: 9.15 am - 6 pm daily
Admission: Weekdays - $8/pax & Weekends/PH/School Holidays - $12/Child & $10/Adult

Tucked within One Holland Village (OHV), The Artground has unveiled WonderGround: A Journey Beneath Your Feet—a sensory-led, immersive play space designed especially for toddlers and preschoolers.

This whimsical “underground” world invites little ones to crawl through twisting tunnels, explore root networks, and discover glittering caverns, all while building confidence, coordination, and curiosity through hands-on play. Best suited for ages three and under, the soft-play environment is thoughtfully curated for safe, whole-body exploration.

Beyond free play, families can look forward to rotating programmes including clay workshops, baby-friendly performances, and even live nature encounters with creatures like rhinoceros beetles. Created by artist Aida Sa’ad (aka “Yellow Mushmellow”), every corner is interactive—encouraging children to touch, explore, and be part of the art.

Running till 31 March 2027, sessions are 1 hour 15 minutes (advance booking recommended), with tickets from $8 on weekdays and $10–$12 on weekends and holidays. Grip socks are required ($3/pair if needed). A vibrant, screen-free experience that’s worth planning a full day out around.

4. Catch the Lyrids Meteor Shower Lighting Up Singapore Skies

Date: 17 - 26 April 2026

The Lyrids meteor shower returns to Singapore from 17–26 April 2026, peaking on the nights of 22–23 April. As highlighted by The Observatory at Science Centre Singapore, this is one of the oldest recorded meteor showers, with origins tracing back to 687 BC, created as Earth passes through debris from Comet Thatcher.

After 11pm—when skies are darkest—families may spot around 10 to 20 bright “shooting stars” per hour, with occasional rare bursts of even higher activity. No special equipment is needed; meteors are visible to the naked eye, making this an easy and memorable science experience for children.

For the best viewing, head to darker, open areas away from city lights such as parks, beaches, or reservoirs, and look up towards the eastern sky. A blanket or picnic mat can make the wait more comfortable as you let your eyes adjust. While no dedicated viewing event is planned, Science Centre Singapore does offer regular stargazing sessions on selected Fridays for families keen to explore the night sky further.

5. Enter the Magic of Roald Dahl’s The BFG Live on Stage at Esplanade Theatre

Venue: Esplanade Theatre
Dates: from 22 Apr 2026
Admission: $48 - $288

Roald Dahl’s The BFG comes alive on stage at Esplanade Theatre—a magical new production filled with big dreams and giant adventures.

One extraordinary night, a young orphan named Sophie is snatched by a giant and taken far away to Giant Country.

There she learns that human-eating giants are guzzling 'norphans' the world over. But she soon discovers that her new friend, the BFG, is different – he's a dream-catching, snozzcumber-munching gentle soul who refuses to eat humans.

While other giants wreak havoc on the world, the BFG ignites Sophie's imagination, and they devise a daring plan to save children everywhere. In the end, the smallest human bean and the gentlest giant prove that a dream can change the world.

Gather your chiddlers to see Roald Dahl’s unforgettable story come to life in Singapore.
