Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) 2025

From 7 to 16 November 2025, the Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) returns for its 28th edition under the theme Shape of Things to Come. Organised by Arts House Group, SWF 2025 invites families, readers, and curious minds to explore a world through literature that is inclusive, inventive, and deeply human.

Festivalgoers can enjoy over 200 programmes with more than 300 local and international presenters, including talks, readings, workshops, and interactive sessions.

Whether you’re bringing little ones for playful storytelling or teens for thought-provoking discussions, SWF 2025 offers experiences that are imaginative, inspiring, and memorable for all ages.

New & Returning Highlights

Signature programmes such as SWF Playground, SEA xChange, Youth Fringe, SWF Classroom and SWF In Conjunction return, alongside new Festival tracks SG60 Homage and Sci-Fi Spotlight, offering innovative ways to explore storytelling across genres and disciplines.

Headline Authors

Festivalgoers can look forward to some of the world’s most celebrated literary talents as they respond to this year’s theme. The lineup features international headliners R.F. Kuang, Fuchsia Dunlop, Sathnam Sanghera, Victoria Chang, and Raymond Antrobus, who bring their distinctive voices and perspectives to explore what the future might hold.

Hao Jingfang (郝景芳) and Ken Liu take centre stage in the Sci-Fi Spotlight, offering visionary stories that imagine worlds yet to come and push the boundaries of the literary imagination. Together, these authors invite audiences to reflect, dream, and engage with the many shapes that literature — and the future — can take.
