- Live Mural Painting of the Installation: 2 – 13 July 2025
- Postcard Stories Exhibition: 14 July – 30 September 2025
Admission: Free

Walk Through Singapore’s History

Titled ‘Postcard Stories’, the installation features 32 metres of hand-painted murals in hues of old postcards, interspersed with three-dimensional pop-up props. Located at One Fullerton’s Seaview Channel, the installation invites you to spot familiar present-day icons hidden within unfamiliar, bygone scenes depicted in old postcards, and in doing so, discover stories from the nation’s past.

The installation consists of four scenes around the period of 1960s and 1970s:

  • Change Alley: A glimpse into the spirited commercial exchange that defined a generation.

  • General Post Office (GPO): A homage to the building’s origins and the pivotal role of postal
    services in connecting people.

  • Singapore’s Waterfront: A tribute to the bustling waterfront, and to the boatsmen and
‘coolies’ whose tireless efforts shaped the city’s early trade.

  • The Esplanade and Merlion Park: A celebration of an enduring national icon and the place’s
    transformation over time.

Celebrate SG60 with a Sense of Wonder

As Yip Yew Chong puts it, this installation is about memory, imagination, and storytelling. Whether you’re reminiscing about your childhood or discovering these stories for the first time, you’ll walk away with a deeper appreciation of how far Singapore has come.

The exhibition will be open to the public at One Fullerton’s Seaview Channel (walkway between Shake Shack and OverEasy) from 14 July 2025 onwards. Whether you’re an art lover or just curious, this is your chance to peek behind the curtain of Yip’s storytelling process.
