People’s Association School Holiday Series Returns With Local-Themed Family Programmes!

The People’s Association (PA) School Holiday Series (SHS) is back! Based on the theme of ‘Xplore Local’, SHS will offer courses that aim to present local attractions, cultures and flavours for families to experience in a refreshing and exciting format!

For the upcoming December holidays, PA Lifeskills & Lifestyle will feature over 88 unique courses ranging from Arts and Crafts, Music, Drama and Dance, Sports and Fitness, Cooking to S.T.E.M. that span across six weeks till 31 December 2020. The array of courses offered will be conducted through online and physical platforms at over 70 Community Clubs/Centres (CC) island wide.

Virtual Tours

For starters, families can sign up for unique virtual tours by Tribe, such as the ‘Curry Puff Factory Virtual Tour’, where participants can learn the process of making curry puffs from scratch. During the ‘Traditional Bread Factory Virtual Tour’, participants get to visit one of the oldest remaining traditional bakeries left in Singapore virtually.

As part of the experiential journey, familiar local treats will be delivered to participants as accompaniment when they embark on these interactive virtual tours.

Virtual ‘Pop-Up’ Courses And Experiential Learnings

In addition, SHS also partnered with Prima Taste and Furama Riverfront to offer unique ‘pop-up’ courses. These include families coming together virtually to prepare the local Chicken Rice dish via online course with Prima Taste. Alternatively, families can choose to participate in an exclusive back-of-house visit presented online by Furama Riverfront Hotel to understand the operations of the hotel and the tour ends with families learning to concoct a unique Christmas drink.

Adapting to the new normal, SHS introduced a wide range of online courses, such as ‘Zulu Shaka Dance’, ‘Coding for Kids’, and ‘Little Carpenter’ that incorporates experiential learning for both parents and children while in the comfort of their homes.

Outdoor Adventure Programmes

For parents who are planning more outdoor adventures for their children, the four PAssion Wave outlets are conducting a series of courses like ‘Sport Climbing Orientation Programme’ and ‘Kayak Explorer Programme’ for families to spend the day outdoors.
