Expanding on the successful Otah & Friends last Dec at Gardens by the Bay, families are invited to visit Otah and his friends at 2 brand new immersive otter-themed experiences! Volume 2: Blast Off happens at the Gardens by the Bay and Volume 3: Grocery Run is at Suntec City! If you are are wondering what happened to Volume 1, it is happening at SAFRA Punggol until 4 Jul 2021.

Mummy Valerie had the opportunity to visit both venues, and shares her thoughts and pictures of both experiences (without giving too much away too)!

Otah & Friends Volume 2: Blast Off

Date: 14 Jun 2021 to 3 Jan 2022
Time: Daily, 9am - 10pm
Ticket price: $24/pax (min. 2 pax); $19/pax for groups of 5 to 8 (Tickets available on KKday)
Venue: Gardens by the Bay, Supertree Grove, 18 Marina Gardens Drive, Singapore 018953 (Beside Supertree Food Hall)

In Volume 2: Blast Off, the children are welcomed to school and it is build-a-rocket day! They are on a race against time to find seven rocket parts hidden around the school and to assemble a life-size rocket! Once the parts are all found, children can unlock the control room and send the rocket into space!

Once the kids are allowed in, they immediately sprung into action! Looking for clues and looking for the missing rocket parts! They were so focus that they missed the hidden basketball court (yes, there is one, so look for it too) during the mission and only came back to play after the mission was completed!

If you are lucky (which we were), you will also get to meet Billy, the hornbill, too! The clues were relatively simple and we felt that it is suitable for kids below 10 years old.

Otah & Friends Volume 3: Grocery Run

Date: 14 Jun 2021 to 3 Jan 2022
Time: Daily, 10am - 10pm
Ticket price: $24/pax (min. 2 pax); $19/pax for groups of 5 to 8 (Tickets available on KKday)
Venue: Suntec City, 3 Temasek Blvd, North Wing, #01-486, Singapore 038983

You won't miss the attractive Chongkee Supermarket backdrop when you arrive! The experience starts with the explanation that you are invited to the Tea Party, but the mischievous Chao Ta ate all the food meant for the party! You are on a mission to help gather groceries with Otah and Luckee so that the tea party will be a success!

It's no walk in the "supermarket"! You have just 25 mins to find the clues, gather the correct food - else there will be no tea party! The kids had difficulty at the Swiss Cheese and the Super Rare Wild Mushroom stations, so mummy had to step in to assist to get these 2 items! Don't forget to find the secret sushi bar, you will really feel like being in a Japanese restaurant!

The clues are harder to solve and we felt it might be suited for older kids to parents too! But the kids will get excited if they get to meet Luckee, the wildboar! Note that the mascots won't be there the entire time, so it also needs some luck.

Mummy's Verdict

The guides were well versed and could engage the kids through the storytelling prior to starting the missions. The colourful spaces are so cheery and happy. The girls prefer the Grocery Run and the boy prefers Blast Off. Overall, both spaces offer tons of fun but you get to have different experiences. I also like the little touches in Blast Off where they include little encouragement quotes inside the lockers.
