Get ready for a fun-filled weekend at the Parks Festival with programmes and activities at West Coast Park.

Since its inception in 2016, the 2-day annual Parks Festival event is a celebration and cumulation of NParks signature programmes and activities offered in at the parks and green spaces throughout Singapore

With the tagline ‘Parks for Everyone’, Parks Festival invites one and all to partake in the wide range of offerings on 23 and 24 September 2023 at West Coast Park – engage in art and craft activities, enjoy live performances in the parks, pick up gardening tips, learn more about Singapore’s flora and fauna and its natural heritage, learn how to take better care of your pets, keep fit and healthy with wellness programmes or even shop for gifts for your loved ones at home. 

Here's a selection of activities and programmes for families to enjoy! 

Singa and the Kindness Cubbies K-I-N-D-ness Show

Timing: 4.30 pm - 5.30 pm
Fees: Free

Kindness is in everyone. Learn about showing and sharing kindness from Singa and the Kindness Cubbies Sher, Kalle, Tomeo and Tosh!

NParks Concert Series in the Park: Rockestra

Timing: 6.30 pm - 10 pm
Fees: Free

Mark your calendars for the upcoming Rockestra® at Parks Festival and party the night away at West Coast Park to the hits of the millennium!

Local acts 53A, Jukuleles and SuperSonic will be energising the stage together with host Justin Misson amping out the crowd. Sing along to your favourite tunes from Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Foo Fighters, Jennifer Lopez and the likes! Soak in the atmosphere and groove down to party beats like it was 1999!

Family Activities - Inflatables and More

Jump to your heart’s content at Families for Life’s Carrot Playground inflatable. Drop by their booth to enjoy a complimentary Becky Bunny temporary tattoo sticker and find out more about Families for Life’s programmes and initiatives!

Sports Activities

Get your hearts pumping at the selection of fun, energetic activities for one and all at Parks Festival! Gather your teammates and take your pick from air badminton or futsal, or work up a sweat with kickboxing (11am – 12pm) and Zumba® (10am – 11am).

You Are Your Child's First Nature Guide - Interactive Booth

Nurture your child’s lifelong love of nature at the You Are Your Child's First Nature Guide booth. Spark a new sense of curiosity in your child when you spend time in the parks and appreciate nature together.

Come participate in interactive game at the Health Promotion Board’s (HPB) fun booth. Upon completion, you will receive a pack of edible seeds from the Activity Booth. Start your gardening journey, grow your own edibles and be Your Child’s First Nature Guide.

Pets' Day Out - Petzmania

Timing: 23 Sep, 10am – 11am | 11am – 12pm | 12pm – 1pm
Fees: Free with registration

A signature programme at Pets’ Day Out, Petzmania is a hands-on workshop designed for children aged 7 to 12 years to learn about animal health and nutrition through role-playing.

As junior vets, children could learn about basic animal anatomy, common illnesses and injuries, and how to provide basic care for pets. As junior nutritionists, they could learn about the nutritional needs of different animals and how to create balanced diets for pets.

Let your children learn about animal health and nutrition while also developing important skills such as empathy and responsibility in a fun and educational way!

Hamster Pebble Adoption Workshop

Timing: 23 Sep, 4pm – 5pm | 5pm – 6pm
Fees: Free with registration (4pm registration, 5pm registration)

Want to learn about responsible hamster ownership in a fun way? Join the Hamster Society Singapore in creating little rock hamsters to take home as an introduction in learning how to keep pet hamsters! Parents are welcome to join in!

Limited slots available. Suitable for children aged 3 to 12 years.

Freddy the Dogged Rescuer (Storytelling)

Timing: 24 Sep, 3pm – 4pm | 4pm – 5pm
Fees: Free with registration (3pm registration, 5pm registration)

Storytelling to children is a fun and engaging way to teach children about the importance of responsible pet ownership.

The captivating storytelling session introduces young audiences to the heartwarming tale of Freddy, a 10- year-old boy, who embarks on a journey of empathy, patience, and enterprise as he adopts a dog named Wally from an animal shelter.

The narrative delves into themes such as adopting versus buying, integrating into a new family, adapting to unforeseen challenges, and the power of collaboration with friends. Real-life events inspired this touching story, making it relatable and thought-provoking.

Upcycled Wood Cookie Ornament Painting

Venue: Gardening & Nature Tent
Fees: Free

Using cross-cut sections of wood and your creativity, put together art pieces using upcycled materials while learning about biodiversity in West Coast Park.

Garden Dome Workshops

Get a hands-on experience at planting and understanding the importance & benefits of edible gardening in City Sprouts’ Garden Dome, which mimics a greenhouse! Register here.

Growing for Good: Sunflower Planting (1pm – 2pm, $9/pax)

Be part of City Sprouts' "Sprouting for Good” initiative where they aim to sprout joy through seeding 500 sunflowers which will be donated to various beneficiary groups to surprise their residents with joyful sunflower stalks! By the end of the workshop, you'll have a healthy sunflower pot to take home and nurture or choose to have City Sprouts to care for your sunflower seedling.

Wiggly Wonders: Vermicomposting for Kids (4pm – 5pm, $30/pax, children 6 years and below joins for free with a paying adult)

Wiggly Wonders is a fun-tastic family workshop on vermicompost where parentchild pairs will have hands-on, tactile fun in transforming regular food waste into nutrients-rich compost. Participants will learn how to create and bring home a DIY vermicomposting bin.

Pot-A-Plant

Timing: 10 am - 11 am
Fees: Free

Come pot a plant to take home with you and start your edible growing journey! Learn how to pot a cutting, get tips to nurture it into a productive plant for fresh harvest to add to your meals.

Farmers' Stories Exhibition

City Sprouts brings their showcase of community farmers' stories in a form of an exhibition gallery – meet the farmers and have a chat with them on their experiences from 11am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm!

Wildlife in Our Parks

Learn more about commonly-encountered wildlife in Singapore and how you can have safe and responsible encounters with wildlife. There will be games, stickers and guidebooks to cultivate greater awareness and understanding of our commitment to conserve and manage the native biodiversity in our City in Nature.
