NLB will be turning everyday places into worlds of discovery through nodes—or installations—set up at locations all over Singapore, starting with your nearest mall!

The National Library Board (NLB) has been relentless in its efforts to nurture reading and to bring knowledge to all Singaporeans. As part of its Libraries and Archives Blueprint 2021 (LAB25), the NLB is extending the library experience beyond its physical walls, bringing content and services to the people, to the malls.
Immersive Wallpapers At The Malls
Starting from 21 October, you can track down our fantasy- and horror-themed wallpapers and lift decals at your favourite malls! These immersive pieces will transport you into the story - fight a dragon, be ensnared by a sinister puppet master, or dodge a killer plant! Take a photo of the family as proof of your adventure!
These wallpaper also features QR codes to specially curated eReads! So scan them to discover new books and stories too! Old classics will be back, expect a special appearance from Mr Kiasu in an exclusive wallpaper library at the SingPost Centre Mall, where you can scan QR codes to explore his brand new eComics series.

A Door To The Future
At selected malls, families will also find interactive digital doors that will share about the four roles NLB will undertake under the LAB25 initiative, building a Learning Marketplace, nurturing an Informed Citizenry, inspiring Singapore Storytellers, and being an Equaliser.
Experience Labs: Experimental Spaces For Families
Discover Experience Labs at selected malls. These experimental spaces are designed to engage visitors through play and transporting families to new worlds, all though surprising encounters with NLB’s collections.
You will find life-size Discovery Sculptures - feast your eyes on a giant dinosaur, or explore a house exploding with fungal life. Stand beside a terrarium blooming with enormous succulents, or catch a crab sneaking away from a giant’s dinner plate. Each of these sculptures hold stories that you can uncover by scanning the available QR Code.
There will also be Carousel Cityscapes to take you on a sensory-rich audio-visual journey through foreign cities, bringing the wonders of the world right to your nearest shopping mall.
Watch the sun set in Paris or gaze over the horizon from the top of a Swiss mountain; catch a tea ceremony in Tokyo or enjoy some K-pop in Seoul. And, as they say, the past is a different country — we’ll even take you back to olden-day Singapore with our very own National Archives’ collections!
