Created in collaboration with OceanX, this exhibition gives families a rare glimpse into parts of the ocean that are usually impossible to see. Through real footage captured by the advanced research vessel OceanXplorer, you’ll get to “travel” deep beneath the surface and encounter incredible marine life up close.

From glowing sea creatures to vast underwater landscapes, every corner of the exhibition is designed to spark curiosity and wonder in young minds.

Experience a Real Sense of Exploring the Ocean Through Five Immersive Zones

The exhibition is structured as a deep-sea voyage, unfolding across five immersive zones such as Descent, Photic Zone, Twilight Zone, Aphotic Zone and Resurface. Throughout the experience, you will encounter rarely seen deep -sea species including specimens on loan from Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum.

Here’s what to expect in each zone of your journey:

Descent: Begin Your Ocean Dive

Your journey starts at the ocean’s surface, where you’ll experience the feeling of diving underwater. As you move through calming shades of blue, the world above slowly fades away—leaving the stage for an exciting deep-sea exploration ahead. It’s a gentle and immersive introduction that helps kids ease into the experience.

Photic Zone: Where Ocean Life Begins

This is the sunlit layer of the ocean, where life thrives. Here, families can explore vibrant coral reef ecosystems and learn about tiny but important marine life like plankton and microorganisms. Through interactive displays and sensory experiences, kids will discover how scientists study ocean life—even using environmental DNA from waters around Singapore’s Southern Islands.

Twilight Zone: Into the Mysterious Mid-Depths

As sunlight fades, you’ll enter the dim and fascinating Twilight Zone. In this space, you’ll uncover how scientists explore the ocean using advanced technology from the OceanXplorer. Learn about deep-sea currents and temperature changes—and how they play a big role in regulating Earth’s climate. It’s a great zone for curious kids who love science and discovery.

Aphotic Zone: A Total Darkness

Welcome to the deepest and darkest part of the ocean, where sunlight never reaches. This zone introduces you to extraordinary deep-sea creatures adapted to extreme pressure and complete darkness. With surreal visuals and real specimens, including corals on loan from the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, kids will be amazed by how life can thrive in such extreme conditions.

Resurface: Learn How to Protect Our Oceans

As your journey comes full circle, you’ll return to the surface with a deeper understanding of the ocean’s importance. This final zone focuses on marine conservation, including seagrass ecosystems. Families can even take part in interactive activities that contribute to real seagrass restoration efforts in Singapore—making this not just a fun experience, but a meaningful one too.
