Venue: Kampong Gelam District
Dates: 11 Feb - 15 Mar 2026
Admission: Free
The iconic Kampong Gelam district is set to transform into a lively cultural hub from 11 Feb to 15 Mar 2026. This year’s theme, "Honouring the Roots, Sampling the Future," offers families a perfect opportunity to introduce children to local Malay heritage while enjoying a high-energy atmosphere.
Whether you are looking to teach the little ones about the significance of the fasting month or simply want to indulge in some of the best street food in Singapore, this 33-day celebration is a top choice for a cultural family day out.
Night Walk with Pelita: A Journey of Light

Kickstarting the festivities on 30 Jan 2026 is a special pre-event night walk. This meaningful journey revives the tradition of lighting pelita (oil lamps), symbolising hope and guidance.
-
Family Reflection: The walk starts at Sultan Gate and ends at the Sultan Mosque, providing a scenic and educational route for families.
-
Healthy Lifestyles: In collaboration with Drugfree SG and the CNB, there will be educational booths and campaigns (such as "Void Vape") aimed at raising awareness about healthy, substance-free living for the youth.
Food and Festive Shopping

The bazaar remains the heart of the event, featuring a mix of traditional flavours and modern "Instagrammable" treats that will appeal to all ages.
-
Traditional Bites: Don’t miss the legendary satay and lemang from House of Lemang and Satay Umi.
-
Modern Flavours: Kids will love the contemporary offerings from Picanhas and ALYUMNI Bakes.
-
Retail Therapy: If you are preparing for Hari Raya, browse through curated stalls like Prettysugar and Loveaisyah for festive outfits and home decor.
Daily Activities and Kids' Open Mic

-
Interactive Workshops: Weekdays feature engaging talks and hands-on sessions.
-
Weekend Highlights: Look out for the Hifz Quran competition and soulful Nasheed performances.
-
Kids’ Open Mic: A wonderful platform for children to build confidence by sharing short 2-minute speeches about Ramadan in a supportive environment.
Parent-Friendly Perks: Child-Minding Services
In a thoughtful move for parents attending evening Teraweh prayers, the Arabic Anonymous Team is providing dedicated child-minding sessions.
-
Safe Play: While parents focus on their spiritual practices, children are kept engaged with arts and crafts, storytelling, and interactive games.
-
Social Interaction: It’s a great way for children to make new friends in a safe, supervised setting.
Communal Mass Iftar

On Saturday, 28 February 2026, Baghdad Street will host a massive communal breaking of fast. Witness the spirit of gotong-royong as 500 participants, including beneficiaries from Jalan Besar GRC, sit together for a meal sourced directly from local Kampong Gelam businesses.
BYKidO Pro-Tip: with over 900,000 visitors expected, the weekends will be very crowded. If you are bringing a stroller, aim to arrive around 3:00 PM when the bazaar opens to beat the dinner rush. The Sultan Gate Park area offers a bit more breathing room for toddlers to move around compared to the narrow lanes of Muscat Street.
Venues and Dates
The festivities will happen around the Kampong Gelam Precinct (Muscat Street, Kandahar Street, and Sultan Gate Park) from 11 Feb to 15 Mar 2026, 2 pm to 11 pm daily.
