From 12 to 13 Apr 2025, families can immerse themselves in the vibrant world of batik, a traditional textile art form, through a variety of engaging activities. This special event, held in conjunction with the "Batik Nyonyas: Three Generations of Art and Entrepreneurship" exhibition, promises a delightful blend of creativity, culture, and fun for all ages.
“In-Kueh-Dible" inflatables

Colourful kueh come to life in this interactive artwork by Bunch of Monkeys. Meet and play with inflatable characters in the shape of Peranakan kueh, right outside the doors of the Peranakan Museum.
Little Crafts: Batik Motif Plushie

Discover the art of bunga rampay (“mixed flowers”), a shared tradition among Malay, Indonesian, and Peranakan communities. Select fresh flowers, pandan leaves, and aromatic ingredients to scent your home, and discover the cultural significance of this Southeast Asian tradition.
Dress up at The Batik Shop

Visit The Batik Shop to learn how to wear a sarong! Try on different outfits and pose for a polaroid picture with friends and family.
MARACOSA Screening & Kueh Party

Experience the magic of MARACOSA, a non-verbal puppet performance by Papermoon Puppet Theatre.
