If you are looking for a way to keep the kids entertained through meaningful indoor play, Mandai X is bringing its latest Ranger Buddies mission to a mall near you!

Beat the Heat with Pedro is a roving educational experience designed to teach children aged 4–10 how simple daily choices can help cool down the planet and protect marine life. Besides learning to be eco-heroes, you will also get to earn exciting rewards by completing the activity stations! 

Interactive Activity Stations

The experience is built around Pedro the sea lion, whose ocean home is getting too warm for him and his cousins to find food. To help him, children must complete the activity stations at the participating malls to learn about sustainability.

There are 4 core activities that will be happening across all 5 malls as well as 1 or 2 additional activities at selected malls. The core activities include

• Who Turned Up the Heat?: Kids use special goggles to uncover hidden words and complete a quiz about factors contributing to rising temperatures.

• Underwater Hunt: A digital scavenger hunt where children use the Ranger Buddies app to find signs of warming oceans and solve riddles that teach them about the impact of rising ocean temperatures on the environment and marine life. 

• A Balancing Act: A block-stacking game to help kids visualise how small daily actions, like taking a bus or a shower, can be stacked to create a significant environmental impact and how a small change in choice can make a difference. 

• #RecycleRight with Bloobin: In collaboration with the National Environment Agency, kids will learn what items can be recycled, and how to recycle them properly through this slider puzzle.
  

Location-Specific Fun & Challenges

Depending on which mall you visit, your little Ranger Buddies can enjoy extra activities and unique setups. 

• Maze Adventures: If you visit Causeway Point or The Centrepoint, there will be a special maze at the mall atrium for kids to explore. 

• Rotating Activities: Each mall features 1 to 2 unique additional activities where kids can have fun learning about sustainability and how to be climate positive!
  

Exclusive Rewards & Points

It's not just about having fun at the missions. You will also earn rewards when completing the stations.  

• Collect All Five Badges: Every participating mall offers an exclusive mission completion badge. There are five to collect in total, available while stocks last.

• Earn Reward Points: As more missions are completed, more points can be earned on the Ranger Buddies app. These can be exchanged for rewards like Ranger Buddies vests, NEA sticker sets, Leather cup sleeves and Eco reusable bags.

How to Participate

Simply spend $30 in a single receipt at the respective participating malls to receive a code to unlock the mission. Each code can only be used once to unlock the mission for 2 child profiles in the same Ranger Buddies account.
