With the school holidays, June is an exciting month with lots of activities and to-dos for families. Here's a list of the new fun things to do for families in Singapore - from a new food-themed playground to an exciting "around-the-world' festival, there is something for every child, parent and family!

1. Embark on An Enchanting, Exciting Fantasy Adventure At The Seletar Mall

Head down to The Seletar Mall this June holidays where a day of fun and rewards awaits. Families can join the Sir Little & Friends Adventure Land and overcome the challenges that awaits at the mall’s atrium at Level 1 and stand to win prizes!

Families can have fun at the video games, VR game machine and racing simulators. There will also be a photo-booth for you to capture your family's best photo and send it to your email too! There will also be an interesting aquatic adventure where you can enjoy taking fun pictures of the kids inside the interactive aquarium with sharks, whales and Manta Ray!

2. Visit the Reopened Children's Garden at Gardens by the Bay

The Far East Organisation Children's Garden will reopen from 27 May 2022. This includes the much anticipated water play area as with the rest of the Children's Garden. We are pretty sure this is exciting news for many parents and the holidays will be a good opportunity to visit! 

Note that the garden is closed on Monday, and Tuesday if the Monday is a public holiday. 

3. FREE 3D Printing and Robotics Workshops by Team ASPIRE Labs

ASPIRE Incubation Labs is organising 2 exciting free workshops suitable for Upper Primary and Secondary School Students. The 3-hour workshops will introduce 3D Printing and robotics through Rover/mBot. These workshops are aimed at imparting new skills to students and to excite them about the possibilities of technology. 

The 3D Printing Workshop will let kids experience the endless possibilities of 3D printing and to design their 1st 3D design. The workshop will cover the basics, including the use of CAD software and OnShape software to do 3D designs. The workshop will end with an assignment where participants will ideate a product and create a CAD model of the product. Choose from the following workshops.

  • 30 May (Online): 10 am - 1 pm
  • 30 May (In-person): 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm
  • 4 June (In-person): 2 pm - 5 pm
  • 13 June (Online): 10 am - 1 pm

The Rover/mBot Workshop is suitable for beginners and will introduce kids to the basics of programming a robot. Participants will work in groups to build a rover (mBot) and learn simple programming of the robot without writing a single line of code! They will end the workshop with a friendly mBot battle to put what they learnt to use! Choose from the following workshops

4. Have A Sporty Time @ Singapore Sports Hub's Junior Playcation Urban Camp

The Junior Playcation Urban Camp is back this June Holiday! Children will get active and be engaged both mentally and physically in this 1-day camp at the Singapore Sports Hub! They will be learning creative play, developing their social skills and engaging in sports while making new friends!

Camps will be conducted every Thursday and Friday in June from 9 am to 5.30 pm with different activities each session. The schedule for each activity is included below.

Do note that food provided is not halal certified, but there will no pork and no lard used in the meal preparation.

7. Visit SAFRA Tampines for MORE Family Fun

From free movie screenings to a fun movement camp for kids, SAFRA Tampines is the place to go for more family fun activities this June Holidays!

Families with young ones can join the half-day sports camp, Fun Movement Camp conducted by FastTrack, while older ones may join the squash trials (free for SAFRA members and just $5 for guests)! There will also be FREE movie screening of 6 popular movies across 3 weekends too! 

8. Catch A Movie In The Sky!

A new month, a new exciting experience! Catch a movie on Marina Bay Sands' SkyPark Obervation Deck against the magnificient backdrop of Singapore's CBD skyline! 

Movies in the Sky starts from 9 June 2022 and includes family friendly shows like Fall Guy, Spider-Man No Way Home, and more. Sit back and relax, you just have to bring your phone and headphones, and you will enjoy big screen visuals while listening to HD audio on your smartphones perfectly in sync.

Exclusively available for booking on KlookMovies in the Sky will screen a curated selection of 12 internationally acclaimed films in June and July at 8.30pm every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Tickets are priced at $48 each and include entry to the SkyPark Observation Deck.

9. Have Fun At The New Masak Masak, The Artground

At Masak Masak, kids are encouraged to play with their food! This food-themed art space at The Artground is designed by The Merry Men Works and is sure to wet the little one's appetite for play!

The playground is filled with larger-than-life food - imagine hopping on an egg tart trampoline and sliding down a melting ice cream! How about climbing into a bowl of chendol and to scale a biscuit climbing wall! Children can also take part in pretend play at this free access art and play space too! 

10. Visit The Reopened Wings Of Time at Sentosa

Closed since May 2020, the popular attraction on Sentosa, Wings of Time, reopened on 18 May 2022 with enhancements to tell the same iconic story in a bigger and better show! 

11. Discover Light Art Installations At Marina Bay

Back after a 2-years hiatus, i Light Singapore will present 20 artworks from artists from 14 countries inspired by the colour violet – a colour which has the shortest wavelength and most powerful electromagnetic energy in the visible light spectrum, and signifies the awakening of senses akin to the spark of an idea in one’s mind.

Artworks on display are created by local and international artists who reimagine the potential of repurposing everyday objects and waste into delightful light installations. These will be available around the Marina Bay area for families to enjoy while they stroll under the evening sky. 

12. Take Part In The Inaugural Singapore Wellness Festival

Led by the Singapore Tourism Board in collaboration with public and private sector partners, the first-ever edition of the Singapore Wellness Festival will feature more than 120 holistic wellness experiences island-wide, including a range of fitness, emotional and mental wellbeing, and lifestyle focused programmes to rejuvenate your body and mind.

A number of venues will be organising wellness-themed activities during this festival, including National Gallery Singapore's Gallery Wellness Festival, Sentosa's Zentosa, and more! Here's a list of family-friendly activities happening at the festival.  

13. Dinosaurs & More @ Singapore Discovery Centre

Get ready to have a "RAWrr-ing" adventure at Singapore Discovery Centre's Jurassic June where they have planned fun and exciting activities for your family over the holidays! 

Kids can embark on the Dino Eco-Hunt with SingaPaw to learn fun facts about dinosaurs and how we can protect the environment Families can also look forward to creating their own dinosaurs at the free 3D paper theatre craft activity and the dino clothespin craft activity. 

Families will not want to miss the interactive Dino Explorers' Show where, you will hear from the dinosaurs about extinction, and how we can do our part to protect the environment to avoid becoming extinct like them! This 30min show is happening every Sat and Sun across the holiday period at 2pm. Tickets are available at $15 per person, SDC Members enjoy 20% off. 

14. ThinkTamil - Singapore First Tamil Cultural Immersive Kids Club

Visit the newly opened ThinkClub where Indian families can bring little ones to immerse in Tamil and to encourage interest in the language through various fun activities. From cultural games such as Paramapadam (Snake & Ladders) & Kattam Vilayattu (Tic Tac Toe) for the older kids to a ball-pit with Tamil alphabets for the younger ones, these activities are meant to make learning the language more fun for children. 

Non-Indian families are welcome to visit and to take part in various cultural activities. They can create their own Rangoli art, take part in the cultural doodle wall and more!

15. Visit The Museums For Children's Season 2022

Get ready for the first-ever night-themed Children’s Season this June school holidays! Families can expect to enjoy a range of family-friendly offerings of more than 100 exhibitions, programmes and activities by participating Museum Roundtable (MR) museums. The night-time programming offer families more
options to spend time together, especially for working parents, as they can choose to come to the museums during the day or at night – or maybe even both times! 

For those who enjoy the challenge of a stamp rally, have a fun day out with your family and friends visiting participating museums to collect their uniquely designed passport stamp imprints. Collect all the imprints and watch them come alive in the dark! The passports will be available for collection at participating museums from 28 May 2022. 

16. Take Lots Of Pictures @ The Children's Festival

This holiday, head down to the Children's Festival 2022 at Gardens by the Bay, and join Bell the Bear in welcoming our Kiztopia friends who have returned from their travels around the world and discover the wonderful memories they have to share. Embark on a fun learning journey with your complimentary activity booklet and get to bring home an exclusive sticker sheet when you complete the mission!

You can expect eight specially-designed giant inflatables, measuring up to 12.5metres tall, take centerstage at Gardens by the Bay! Each inflatable features the iconic landmarks of the different countries, such as Mount Fuji in Japan, the Sydney Opera House in Australia and Gardens by the Bay in Singapore! These are NOT bouncy castles but two of the inflatables allow visitors to “board” the hot air balloon to take photos.

25. Borrow A Book At The New Grab-n-Go Service At National Library Building

Borrowing books is now even easier with the new self-checkout service “Grab-n-Go” at the National Library BuildingThis self-checkout system will enable patrons to pick up a book from a collection of about 5,000 titles, and books will be automatically checked-out as patrons exit through the gantry.

The titles included in this pilot is just for adults but NLB will review its usage and evaluate feedback from patrons before determining the feasibility and future roll-out plans of the Grab-n-Go system at other public libraries after the pilot ends at the beginning of next year. 

26. Explore Nature At The New Pasir Ris Park Nature Playgarden

Already a popular park for families, Pasir Ris Park adds to its attraction with the opening of the Pasir Ris Park Nature Playgarden located at Area 1. The new addition offers various play elements and photo spots for families visiting the park. 

Little ones can play with the water pump, well, fishing boats and nets, a Kelong hut and traditional music instruments at this new playgarden to imagine themselves back to Pasir Ris' past as a coastal fishing village, and with all playgardens, there will be lots of opportunity for them to play with and within nature too!

30. Run At The First-Ever My Little Pony Virtual Fun Race at Suntec City
