From 20 December 2021, Baker X will feature a line-up of home-based bakers who will take up residency of two to six weeks, one at a time.

Far East Organization is excited to announce the launch of its Baker X baking studio and café on level 4 of the buzzing Orchard Central mall in Orchard Road. 

With the aim of supporting bakers who wish to explore scaling up into full-fledged outlet, Far East Organization seeks to provide a business opportunity through Baker X – a fully fitted baking studio and cafĂ©.

With this unique concept, Far East Organization strives to give budding home-baking entrepreneurs a chance to run their operations at a physical outlet at no costs and to scale their production. Customers will also be able to gain access to their favourite home-based bakers, interact with them and try their bakes, including their new items, first-hand in a café setting.

Through the launch of Baker X, Far East Organization also hopes to encourage the entry of new brands to Orchard Central mall by providing customers with more choices, promoting greater diversity and enhance the retail ecosystem in Singapore.

Featuring an industrial chic interior design with table and counter seating for up to 10 guests, the baking studio and cafĂ© at Orchard Central is fully fitted with appliances from brands such as leading Swiss household name, V-ZUG. Baker X will be operated by the baker-in-residence, complemented by Foreword Coffee Roasters – a social enterprise that aims to provide an inclusive work environment for neurodiverse individuals.

Kicking off the project is White’s Bakery, and customers can look forward to having a taste of their signature creamy Basque Cheesecake (large slice from $10 / 6-inch 1kg whole cake from $38) that is rich in flavour yet lighter in sweetness, such as the Original, Matcha, Hojicha, Earl Grey, Taro, and Lotus Biscoff Cookie Butter.

Also hot on the menu are Korean Fat Macarons (any 6 for $30) with a crisp and delicate shell for those with a sweet tooth.

During this festive season, the signature Korean fat macarons are available in special Christmas flavours, which include Peppermint Mocha, Toffee Nut, and Hot Chocolate, inspired by the ever-popular festive drinks created by a famous coffee chain.

Moving away from the notion that desserts are always only one-dimensional – sweet, Browned Butter Bakehouse instead incorporates balanced flavours, both classic and inventive, into their bakes, while playing with different textures and sensations.

Browned Butter Bakehouse will be bringing a range of their most popular bakes to Baker X with items, such as Browned Butter Cinnamon Rolls ($4 each) glazed with a fragrant cream cheese frosting and swirled with house-made blueberry compote; the LUXE Tart ($5.80 each) - a textural combination of crunchy, smooth and creamy, with cohesive flavours of toffee, caramel and nuts; classic Passionfruit Meringue Tart ($5.50 each); and White Choc & Raspberry Popsicle ($4.50 each) featuring creamy white chocolate and vanilla bean whipped ganache with a contrasting raspberry compote, encased in a crisp tempered chocolate coating.

Using a curated selection of the finest French ingredients while following healthier and lighter recipes, Mon Cerise Patisserie’s vision behind each creation is ‘guilt-free indulgence’.

During their time at Baker X, Mon Cerise Patisserie will be serving their irresistible Les Petites Tarts ($4.50 each or $22.50 for a box of 5) in classic favourites like Lemon & Basil, Chocolate, Chestnut Mandarin, and tarts with seasonal fruits, as well as Taste of Mon Cerise ($10 each) individual sized cakes and tart such as the Strawberry Charlotte and Coco Loco, a compelling combination of coconut, lemon, and mint.

They will also be introducing their new packaging at Baker X, just in time for Valentine’s Day – perfect for gifting toothsome bakes to loved ones.

Ree And Mummy believes in using the freshest ingredients in highlights such as the all-time favourite Burnt Pineapple Cheesecake, Caramel Biscoff Cheesecake, Macadamia Nuts Cheesecake, and their Signature Almond Pecan Toffee.

Also available at Baker X is The Breakthrough Box and breakthrough experience, whereby customers can create their own toffee with a choice of topping and experience smashing the toffee brittle. These are in the good company of buttery cookies from HeiHappyCakes.

Specialising in French pastry techniques combined with Japanese making elements, anticipate baked delights with light textures and unique flavours.

Exclusive to Baker X are slices of best-selling fresh cream cakes that are usually sold as a whole cake, in addition to an array of individual sized petit cakes and tarts, even popular past bakes. These include Earl Grey Madeleines, Matcha Roll Cake, Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake, Tiramisu, and Citrus Meringue Tart just to name a few.
