1. Get Festive with Your Little Ones at the RWS Summer Matsuri!

A feast for the eyes and a feast for your tummies, RWS Summer Matsuri is what we’ve been waiting for!
Thanks to the RWS Donburi Championship, you can savour 6 flavourful donburi, including Oyakodon (Chicken and Egg Bowl), Steak Donburi and Kuroge Wagyu Donburi. Fill your tummies and vote for your favorite bowl of rice!
You’ll probably going to be craving for something sweet after lunching. No worries. You’ve got an array of authentic Japanese sweets like Matcha ice-cream, Nama Melon Soft Cream and Purin Dora, a rich custard pudding sandwiched between fluffy dorayaki, to choose from!
With over 20 food and drink booths and more than 40 types of snacks imported from Japan, it’ll be safe to assume that you and your little ones will be going home with bulging tummies.
But of course food is not all there is. Catch the breath-taking Awa-Odori, one of the most famous dance festival held in Japan during Obon, and watch in awe the impressive display as performers hoist lanterns hung on bamboo poles that rise up to above 12-metre.
Each kanto (lantern) hoisted up by a single performer to the sound of drums, flutes and chanting is a glorious sight to behold! What’s more, after the performance, you can even try your hand at hoisting a kanto.
Aside from that there will also be free screenings of Japanese movies like The Travelling Cat Chronicles and What a Wonderful Family! (Series 1 to 3).

2. Stuff Your Own Dumplings at the Wan Qing Dumpling Festival!

Wan Qing Dumpling Festival 2019 is here and the two-day festival is jam-packed with all things fun and exciting!
Expect craft workshops where you’ll get to make your own glutinous rice dumplings, fold your own miniature dragons with recycled materials or mold them with kids-safe playdough make from ingredients like flour, water and salt.
There will also be dramatized storytelling session, Roving Balloon Artist, carnival game booths, and rice art sensory play, among others.
Recharge your energy at the Snack Station with delightful munchies like muah chee, putu piring, traditional ice cream, and churros, and stay on for the Evening Concert, where things get much livelier.
A spectacular line-up of performances from LED drums to Chinese dance and live music performances awaits you!

3. Get Curious this June at National Museum of Singapore!

Through the themes of Animals, Colours, Shapes, Transport and Values, little ones will get to explore National Museum’s various galleries, where they can take part in a variety of interactive activities.
You can play on bouncy castles, join in sensory play, unleash your creativity and imagination with art workshops, catch film screenings, and even build your own toy!

Giant’s Table is a two-part whimsical theatre performance. The first part, Snack Time, has short scenes and the second part, audiences are invited to jump into the Giant’s Table where you’ll get to interact with live drawings on projection.

6. Witness Singapore’s Evolution at The Bicentennial Experience!

The Bicentennial Experience, comprising of two parts—Time Traveller and Pathfinder—is a retelling of Singapore’s story, a story that goes back to not just 200 but 700 years.
Time Traveller is an hour long cinematic experience that will begin in 1299, highlighting Singapore’s major milestones through the centuries to present day. From the rule of Sang Nila Utama to the arrival of British followed by the Japanese occupation. Be prepared to be left awe-struck at the end of this multi-sensory program.
Pathfinder on the other hand, is a series of pavilions that you’re free to tour at your own leisure. An installation made of mirrors, an open-air library, and an Observatory showcasing historical events around the world and how they coincide with our history, are just some of the pavilions you could explore with your little ones.
