The ArtgroundĀ at One Holland Village has officially launched its newest immersive installation, "WonderGround: A Journey Beneath Your Feet."
If you are looking for a fresh, creative way to engage your little ones, this space offers a unique "underground" adventure that trades screen time for sensory-rich, hands-on exploration and is a vibrant reimagining of the ecosystems existing right under our toes.
Interactive Play & Discovery
The installation is built around the concept of "Burrow Buddies." Children are encouraged to navigate a series of twisting tunnels and root networks, mimicking the life of creatures that live beneath the soil. The space is specifically designed to support cognitive and emotional development through movement.

- Glittering Caverns: Visual sensory elements that spark imagination and curiosity.
- Root Networks: A spatial exploration area that helps children understand how natural systems are interconnected.
Designed for the Littlest Explorers
While children up to age nine are welcome, WonderGround shines as a haven for the 3-and-under crowd. The tactile elementsāthings to touch, pull, and peek throughāare purposefully curated to build confidence and coordination in early learners. The soft-play nature of the "underground" environment makes it a safe space for whole-body exploration.
Creative Workshops & Performance Arts
WonderGround isn't just a playground; itās a living canvas. As part of a residency with Teater Ekamatra, artist Aida Saāad will be rolling out several programmes throughout the year:
- Clay-Based Workshops: Children can get their hands dirty (metaphorically!) by sculpting their own imaginary underground creatures to take home.
- Live Nature Sessions: Look out for collaborations with The Curious Pangolin, where kids can meet live rhinoceros beetles and learn about biodiversity from specialist James Khoo.
- Baby-Focused Programmes: Upcoming performances specifically designed for infants and very young audiences, set directly within the installation.
A Vibrant, Artist-Led Space
Known as "Yellow Mushmellow," artist Aida Saāad brings her signature bold colours and patterns to the space. Every corner is designed to be a "participatory work," meaning nothing is off-limits. It is a refreshing departure from traditional galleries, inviting children to be part of the art rather than just observers.
