Autobots, unite! Did you know that there’s a Transformers-themed playground in the West?Ā

Keep a lookout for the giant robot head

Optimus Prime is looming overhead, and he’s looking for little robots to fight alongside him! Are your kids up for the challenge?

It’s all in the details: the play structure is decked out with corkscrews, mini rockets, and aerial fins stretching into the sky.Ā

Our favourite part was the two curvy tunnel slides that double up as Optimus’ Prime’s arms. If your kids aren’t fans of enclosed spaces, there’s a smaller open-faced slide too.

The littlest autobots are invited to join in as well

There’s a smaller play structure on the other end of the playground that’s catered to the littler robots. This structure is smaller in size, allowing little children to play with ease.

To keep the children engaged, the playground also has multiple interactive boards. There’s a clock that tells time, dials that show units of length and time, as well as a cute face-in-the-hole board where kids can pretend to be a cute little seal. However, we only wish that some of the interactive boards were placed at a lower height for greater accessibility.

Show off your robot dance moves

The two play structures flank a climbing mound, which makes for a great dance platform! Our daughter had fun dancing like a robot at the top, and tunnelling from side to side. One side of the mound is lined with horizontal logs, and the other comprises a mini rock climbing wall — offering lots of climbing and pretend play opportunities.Ā

Other play equipment include swings, a seesaw, as well as an adorable spinning top that children can sit inside.

Our experience

We love themed playgrounds, and this is definitely one that both genders can enjoy. We like how there’s both a bigger and smaller play structure, making it suitable for all ages.Ā

Parents can also clock a workout at the adjacent fitness corner whilst the kids have fun.

What to bring

The playground is completely unsheltered, so a sunhat and sunscreen would be great if you’re intending to visit in the afternoon. Don’t forget your water bottle too! Do note that there aren’t any toilets in the vicinity.

The playground is framed by a long track, so feel free to bring your kid’s bicycle, scooter, or rollerblades along.

Location

The playground is located at Block 469, Jurong West St 41. There is ample open-air parking available; it can also be reached in 10 minutes on foot from Lakeside MRT station.
