Reading with the kids is about to get a whole lot more engaging, stylish, and accessible withĀ The HomePage @ Causeway Point, a first-of-its-kind public-private destination that brings books, community events, and family lifestyle spaces together under one roof.
As part of NLB's ReadSG initiative, this huge community space is designed to encourage a lifelong love of reading by weaving books naturally into everyday family lifeāwhether you are stopping by after a meal or spending a full weekend afternoon with the kids.
A Visually Striking Space Inspired by Singapore Heritage

Spanning over 32,000 square feet across parts of the sixth and seventh floors, The HomePage @ Causeway Point is built around a dramatic, triple-volume architectural design. Rather than feeling like a traditional quiet library, the space is designed with the warmth of a collective "home" in mind.
Visually, the architecture pays tribute to iconic local heritage touchpoints that parents and grandparents will instantly recognise:
-
Classic HDB Architecture: Structural design elements reference the distinctive shapes and nostalgic features of older Teck Whye HDB blocks.
-
The Stamford Road Library: Architectural nods pay homage to the beloved former National Library building at Stamford Road.
-
70s Brutalist Design: Bold geometric forms inspired by Singaporeās 1970s Brutalist style are reimagined through a modern lens, creating a striking backdrop that celebrates Singapore's identity across generations.
One of Singapore's Largest Collections of Pre-Loved Books & Sing Lit

At the core of the hub is an innovative approach to making reading easy, sustainable, and stress-free for families:
-
Browse & Keep Pre-Loved Books: The HomePage will house one of the largest publicly accessible collections of pre-loved books from NLB's libraries in English and Mother Tongue languages. Unlike standard library borrowing, visitors can browse and take home pre-loved titles to keep and read at their own pace without worrying about return dates. Families are also encouraged to pay it forward by passing along books they have finished.
-
Dedicated Sing Lit Showcase: In partnership with the National Arts Council, a major dedicated zone will highlight Singapore Literature (Sing Lit) and local authors, complete with rotating thematic exhibitions and cultural storytelling sessions to connect young readers with local stories.
Family-Friendly Play Zones, In-Space Dining & Indoor Theatre

Designed as a vibrant social hub, The HomePage goes beyond bookshelves to offer spaces where families can relax, play, and connect without feeling like they have to whisper:
-
Dining in the Reading Space: Parents and kids can enjoy food and beverages directly within the community reading environment, making it easy to settle in for a long afternoon with a snack and a good book.
-
Children's Play Zones: Interactive play spaces designed specifically for young visitors will keep children engaged through hands-on learning and play.
-
Indoor Theatre & Screening Space: A purpose-built indoor theatre will serve as a sanctuary for family film screenings, author talks, live storytelling sessions, and cultural performances.
