3 new tourist attractions will be opening in Singapore from later this year, the Singapore Tourism Board announced at the annual industry conference on 7 Apr. 2021. It is also announced that there will be continued refresh to existing tourist offerings, including a lifestyle and events space at Orchard Road!

The Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) started in 2016 as an Instagrammable pop-up funhouse that opens for a limited time at different locations. It opened a fixed location in New York in 2018 and has been popular for it's rainbow sparkle pool!

Located at the Dempsey area, Singapore will be MOIC's first location outside of Singapore. If you like to take your next Instagram photo here, you can register for early ticket access on their website now!

Also opening is SlingShot, Asia's tallest slingshot and thrilling ride at Clarke Quay. Riders will be catapulted almost 70m into the air, reaching a speed of 160km/h.  It will be located next to the existing GX-5 Extreme Swing and we believe this will be for the bravest of hearts!

Tickets will be priced at $45 for adults and $35 for students.

The 3rd addition will be an open-air panoramic attraction offering visitors a scenic view of Sentosa and the Southern Waterfront on a rotating platform. The attraction will open in 2022.

Refreshing Orchard Road!

The open-air Grange Road car park was to be transformed into an event space before the pandemic. We have seen it used for the Christmas light-up in 2019 and also for a pop-up carnival. The transformation of the car park into a lifestyle and event space is expected to be completed in 2022.

There will are plans for a new attraction concept at the vacant site between Somerset Skatepark and Killiney Road. STB, together with the Singapore Land Authority and Urban Redevelopment Authority will launch a tender later this year.

Christmas Light-Up 2021

STB is also working with the Orchard Road Business Association to scale up the annual Christmas Light-up, Christmas on a Great Street, and shopping events for this year. So we may see more happenings along the shopping belt later this year too!
