Located on Wellington Street in the suburb of East Perth in Perth, Western Australia, the new Wellington Square Playground is deemed to be one of the largest in the metropolitan area.
Location: Wellington Street, East Perth WA 6004, Australia
Opening Hours: 24 Hours
Spanning across 3000 square metres, this massive $17.5 million intergenerational park and playground has a dual name in recognition of Wellington Square’s significance to many members of the Aboriginal community. It is also called Koolangka Koolangka Waabiny which means children’s playground in Whadjuk Nyoongar.
Adopting the theme “Landscape of Play”, this inner-city playground's design is very much influenced by its Aboriginal themes and Western Australian iconic landforms. The colours seen throughout the vast playground are inspired from the colours of Western Australia's native flowers.
