UNIQLO Launches JOIN: THE POWER OF CLOTHING Campaign To Promote Environmental And Sustainability Awareness

The objective of JOIN: THE POWER OF CLOTHING campaign is to encourage UNIQLO customers to play an active role in UNIQLO’s environmental sustainability activities. 

The campaign comprises two main initiatives through which UNIQLO customers can participate in - Buy and JOIN and Learn and JOIN. These initiatives will be conducted within UNIQLO stores and UNIQLO online store.

Buy and JOIN

With UNIQLO’s expanded lineup of items made from recycled material,  customers can now effortlessly incorporate sustainable choices and reduce environmental impact in their daily lives. Some of the products include:

DRY-Ex T-shirts (made of recycled polyester recovered from plastic bottles)

  • Kids' DRY-EX Crew Neck Short Sleeve T-shirt (Stripe): $14.90
  • DRY-EX Short Sleeve Polo Shirt: $29.90
  • DRY-EX Crew Neck Short Sleeve T-shirt: $19.90

Blue Cycle Jeans (that use up to 99%* less water in the finishing process)

  • Ultra Stretch Colour Jeans: $49.90
  • Women’s Slim Flared Jeans: $59.90

Learn and JOIN

Drawing & Colouring Activities @UNIQLO’s Sustainability Corners

Venue: UNIQLO 51@AMK, UNIQLO Jewel Changi Airport, UNIQLO Orchard Central, UNIQLO Plaza Singapura & UNIQLO Tampines Mall
Date: 1 to 31 Aug 2022

From 1 to 31 August 2022, younger customers are welcomed to create their favourite scene of the marine life with drawing and colouring materials available at the Sustainability Corners located in five UNIQLO stores - UNIQLO 51@AMK, UNIQLO Jewel Changi Airport, UNIQLO Orchard Central, UNIQLO Plaza Singapura and UNIQLO Tampines Mall.

The engaging hand-son activity can help to strengthen appreciation for marine life and spark conversations on the importance of marine protection among customers - be it between parent and child or among siblings visiting the store together.

To encourage participation for coastal clean-ups, UNIQLO Singapore partners The Green Nudge, a local social enterprise which supports businesses and communities to create a positive environmental impact to create two clean-up opportunities.

In conjunction with World Cleanup Day 2022, which falls on 17 September 2022, there will be two sessions of coastal clean-ups held over two Saturdays, 17 September 2022 and 24 September 2022 at Yishun Dam.

The top ten best-performing participants who collected the most amount of trash will receive a gift set comprising Doraemon Sustainability Mode Toy, Pocketable Bag and T-shirt.

In addition, customers can learn about environmental issues and take action through a dedicated website that includes messages from UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassadors calling for participation in the campaign, and a video with LifeWear Special Ambassador, Haruka Ayase outlining some of the sustainability focus areas at UNIQLO.

There is also a wide range of special content to learn about ocean-related issues, including an interview with a biological oceanographer, Ryota Nakajima and an interview with environmental specialist Dr. Keith Alverson.
