Ramadan 2021: Restaurants and Dining Deals for Iftar in Singapore

Here’s our pick of the best halal restaurants serving up scrumptious iftar feasts for the whole family!  

This year, Ramadan, a month of worship, reflection and fasting, starts on 12 Apr and ends on 12 May 2021. If you need a spot to get together with your family and friends for iftar, we’ve got you covered! 

There are a variety of halal eateries around Singapore where you can indulge in your cravings and if heading out does not seem attractive, a lot of these restaurants also offer delivery and takeaway services! 

1. Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant

Serving up authentic halal-certified Indonesian fare, Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant at Furama Riverfront is offering a mouth-watering menu of dishes for iftar this Ramadan. 

Menu highlights include Rendang Daging Sapi (beef chunks simmered in spices and coconut), Ayam Panggang Woku (chicken baked in a bold green chilli concoction) and Udang Bijirin (deep-fried cereal butter tiger prawns), alongside quintessential favourites such as Sayur Lodeh (vegetables in spiced coconut gravy), Sambal Goreng (long beans, tahu and tempe with chilli), and Gado Gado (Indonesian salad with peanut sauce).

“Iftar at Kinta” Ramadan Buffet is priced at $33.80++ for lunch and $38.80++ for dinner. Senior Citizens (aged 60 and above) enjoy 30% off buffets, while kids (aged 6 to 12) get 40% off!

If you rather break fast at home than amidst the rustic Balinese setting of the restaurant, opt to order the Ramadan specials online. Though do note that some menu items require you to order days in advance. You can choose to have it delivered to your doorstep or you can self-collect it at the restaurant. 

2. Pastamania

The well-known halal Italian restaurant chain, Pastamania has introduced a new Family Feast Bundle this Ramadan. Priced at $60 per set, the bundle comprises 4 delicious pastas with selections from the Aglio, Cream and Tomato family (worth up to $12.90 each), a choice of 4 appetisers such as Calamari, Honey Garlic Chicken or Waffle Potato with Cheese, and 4 soft drinks.

If you are feeling experimental, you can also order from the Hari Raya Limited Edition Menu, which features two new dishes – Tandoori Chicken Pizza and Chicken Rendang Pasta. 

With every Family Feast Bundle sold, Pastamania in collaboration with Badan Agama dan Pelajaran Radin Mas (BAPA) will be donating a pasta (worth up to $11.90) to needy Muslim families in Singapore. The Family Feast bundles and Hari Raya limited edition menu is available for dine-in, delivery and takeaway. 

3. The Halia

The Halia Restaurant’s Ramadan specials include drool-worthy fares such as Barbeque Pulled Lamb Leg, Roasted Honey Soy Spatchcock of Spring Chicken, Seafood Gratin, and Toffee Pudding, among others. They also offer communal meal for 5 or 10 persons. With every order of the communal menu, 2 kids (below 10 years) eat free and you get a free jug of Halia Herbarium drink as well as a packet of Halia Pink Packets. 

The restaurant Ramadan specials are also available for home delivery, though you have to order 4 days in advance and a minimum order of $50 is required. 

4. Copper Chimney

Copper Chimney serves up North Indian and Indian Chinese cuisine. Their halal-certified menu offers mouth-watering fares that are full of spice and flavours such as Mutton Roganjosh, Szechwan Fried Rice and Malai Chicken Tikka. Their menu is available for dine-in, takeaway and delivery. 

5. StraitsKitchen

A buffet restaurant located on the lobby level of Grand Hyatt Singapore Hotel, StraitsKitchen is serving up specially curated dishes such as Fattoush, a Lebanese salad made from toasted pieces of pita bread, pomegranate, and mixed greens, Slow Braised Australian Lamb Shank with Nut Rice, Chilli Crab, and one of the favourites, Chef Solanki’s Butter Chicken among others. You can also look for sweet treats like Baklava, a filo pastry and mixed nuts drizzled in syrup; Basbousa, a traditional sweet cake, and Durian Fritters.

Priced at $88++ per adult and $48++ per child, the Ramadan feast is available from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

6. Monster Planet

Monster Planet, where you can get mouthwatering Japanese halal curry dishes, is offering couple sets and family bundles this Ramadan. The couple set for 2 pax comes with Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, Ondeh Ondeh Honey Toast, a Monster Combo Curry Rice, featuring Chicken Katsu, Beef Shabu-Shabu, Shrimp Tempura, Fried Fish, and Cheese, as well as drinks. The family bundle for 4 also comes with all that except this Monster Combo Curry Rice features salmon fry, lemongrass chicken, cheesy chicken sausages, chicken thigh, fried shrimp, meat-free bites salad, and tako balls.

If you’re ordering for the family, check out their Ramadan Set, which consists of Soon Dubu Lamb Hot Pot, Kimchi Beef Hot Pot, Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap, Lamb Bibimbap, Mixed Brown Rice, Korean Pancake, Mandu (5pcs) and drinks, suitable for 4 pax. These Ramadan Specials are available for delivery and pick up at the restaurant.

Located in the lobby of Royal Plaza on Scotts is Carousel Buffet Restaurant, a favourite haunt of many. On the menu this season are dishes like Nasi Ambeng, Lobster Mee Soto and traditional desserts with a twist like Durian Chocolate Fudge and Chendol Delice. While Carousel does not seem to offer delivery for their Ramadan Dinner Menu items, they do offer islandwide delivery for some of their other menu favourites. They offer a variety of Bentos and Family Feasts for 4, including ‘Sedap’ which consists of Ayam Masak Merah (Braised Chicken in Tomato Gravy), Ikan Assam Pedas (Tamarind Fish with Ladyfingers), Traditional Malay Sayur Lodeh (Vegetable Curry with Coconut Milk), Telur Penyut Sambal (Sambal Quail Eggs with Beancurd), and Nasi Tomato.
