2020 looks to be a promising year when it comes to on-screen entertainment for little ones (& Mummies and Daddies) with movies like The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle to SCOOB!, where we get to experience the first meeting of Scooby and Shaggy! While many more are in the works, here's our pick of movies to look forward to this year!

1. The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle

The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle is a whimsical movie that follows the fantastical adventure of Doctor Dolittle, a renowned doctor who can talk to animals. His entourage includes a cheery polar bear, a nervous gorilla, a strong-willed parrot, a crazy duck, a loyal dog, and a friendly giraffe, among others.

2. Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog, an upcoming movie based on the famed video game by the same name, was to be released in November 2019, however, it was pushed back after the first trailer released much criticism mainly due to the design of the title character. The new design has been well received and the movie is now set to release end of February 2020.

3. Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway

In this sequel to Peter Rabbit, the titular character, as the title suggests, runs away from home. His journey brings him to Barnabas, an old friend of his dad, who is just as mischievous, if not more so than Peter Rabbit, and together they cook up a storm.

4. Onward

Avengers Tom Holland and Christ Pratt have teamed up for another kind of mission in Onward.

Set in a suburban fantasy world, Onward follows two elf brothers, Ian (Tom Holland) and Barley (Chris Pratt), as they set off on a journey to discover if there is still some magic left in the world in order to bring back their father back from the dead for one day.

5. Trolls World Tour

After the 2016 animated hit, the Trolls are back and they’re bringing an explosion of funk, country, techno, classic, pop, and rock music together with them in Trolls World Tour.

6. Mulan

Disney's Mulan is getting a live-action movie that is set to be released in March. Catch Hua Mulan, disguised as a man, take the place of her ailing father to serve in the Imperial Chinese Army, live! 

7. Scoob!

A fantasy-comedy, Soul follows a passionate musician, who is struggling to make it. However, just when things start to look up, his soul gets transported to "You Seminar" and to find his way back, he must now work with other souls! 

10. Minions 2

Release: 24 Jun 2021

A continuation of the film of 2015, Minions, this time focusing on the Minions during their first encounter with a young Felonious Gru.

11. Clifford The Big Red Dog

Clifford The Big Red Dog, a well-loved children’s picture book series, which was later turned into an animated series, will be making an appearance on the silver screen. This is a live-action movie, except for titular character, Clifford, who will be animated.  

12. The Croods 2
