The Cathay’s Official Opening Three-Day Carnival

The Cathay, an iconic fixture in Singapore’s urban landscape, is marking its Official Opening with a three-day carnival from 15 to 17 August!

This follows its soft launch in March, which saw the historic development bring an all-new retail experience and a state-of-the-art 360-degree multimedia tower as the centrepiece of the atrium.

The festivities invite all, including families and pet-owners, to celebrate the refreshed
lifestyle destination. Here's what you and your family can look forward to:

Confetti Showers with over $10,000 worth of Prizes!

To mark its official opening, The Cathay is welcoming mall-goers with two spectacular confetti showers of rewards with over $10,000 worth of Cathay Malls evouchers, shopping and dining vouchers sponsored by tenants such as Erabelle, Sheng Siong Supermarket, Tsui Wah and more. The confetti showers will take place at the atrium on 15 and 16 August at 7pm.

Celebrity Appearances

Catch MediaCorp personalities Sonia Chew and Joakim Gomez on 15 August (6pm) and NoonTalk Media Artistes Zong Zijie, Kimberly Chia, and Bryan Kok on 16 August (6pm) for an exclusive meet-and-greet experience!

  • Pets Zone featuring a DIY dog collar activity, pet selfie corner, and curated pet merchandise.
  • Kids’ Corner with free bouncy castles, balloons, popcorn, and cotton candy for children under 12.
  • Pop-up booths offering product showcases and delicious food sampling.

The party continues at the Singapore Night Festival, the 16th edition of the city’s largest evening experience. Inspired by The Cathay Gallery, The Cathay will be dressed up in dazzling lights and projections from 1 August to 6 September 2025.

The activation of lights honours the building’s rich cinematic legacy with a treasure trove of insights into the beginnings of film and movies in Singapore. Think floating film stars, retro cinema vibes, and stories from Singapore’s golden age of film – all in one spot!

Visit The Cathay Gallery (Level 2) to explore Singapore’s film heritage:

  • Mon to Thu: 5pm to 9pm
  • Fri to Sun: 12pm to 9pm
