Create magical memories at The Great Picnic Hangout at Great World with free movie screenings, rides, and family activities. Take a deep dive into the fascinating world of manta rays at the Singapore Oceanarium, where exclusive programmes, expert insights, and hands-on activities await. 

For little speedsters, zoom over to Jumptopia™ Lite: Turbo Tots Playground at Marina Square – a race-themed inflatable wonderland packed with thrills. Don’t miss “Beautiful Oops! 1. Discover Non-Stop Fun at The Great Picnic Hangout at Great World

The Great Picnic Hangout is back by popular demand at Great World, offering a fantastic and convenient day out for families. From 8 to 14 September 2025, the Atrium will be transformed into a vibrant picnic wonderland, bringing together fun, entertainment, and delicious treats in one easy-to-access location.

Families can expect a week filled with entertainment and fun with daily free movie screening of popular kids movies to the Picnic Funland by Uncle Ringo with the whimsical teacup ride and the playful picnic treats inflatables as well as a variety of engaging workshops and exciting performances for the whole family!

2. Dive into the World of Manta Rays at Singapore Oceanarium

Venue: Singapore Oceanarium
Date: 6 to 20 Sep 2025
Programme Timing: 11.30am, 2pm, 4.30pm (45 min each)
Fee: $28 per person (ages 4+) as an add-on to Oceanarium admission

Celebrate World Manta Day with Animal Spotlight: Manta Rays at Singapore Oceanarium, running from 6 to 20 September 2025—perfect for families during the September school holidays.

This immersive programme includes a 45-minute behind-the-scenes guided tour where visitors learn about manta ray care, diet, and behaviour, with opportunities to interact with aquarists and take home a manta ray plush keychain and lanyard set. On 13 September at 4pm, join marine conservationist Daniel Fernando for an expert sharing session, available in-person and online, to learn about global threats and conservation efforts for manta and devil rays.

Families can also enjoy fun activities like meeting the manta ray mascot, themed F&B treats, exclusive souvenirs, and storytelling sessions such as “Manja’s Adventure” at the Children’s Biodiversity Library (free, first-come-first-served).

Beyond the spotlight series, Singapore Oceanarium offers other experiences including Insider Tours, deep-sea explorations, and Fossilist Workshops for hands-on fossil excavation. 3. Rev Up for Jumptopia™ Lite: Turbo Tots Playground at Marina Square

Venue: Marina Square Central Atrium
Dates: 6 - 16 Sep 2025, 10.30 am - 8.30 pm
Admission: $15 per ticket

Get ready as Marina Square’s Central Atrium transforms into a thrilling race themed inflatable playground-perfect for little speedsters eager to take on big-time fun! 

Take on an exciting obstacle course packed with tunnels, climbing zones, and bouncy hurdles that will put every young racer's skill to the test. Then, race down a giant inflatable race car, featuring twin racing slides designed for double the excitement!

Admission Fee for public is $15 per ticket (purchase on-site). Marina Square Members can purchase the ticket at a special member price of $6 per ticket, limited to 400 tickets. Each ticket admits one child and one accompanying adult.

4. Celebrate Air Force Day 2025 at the Singapore Air Force Museum

Venue: Singapore Air Force Museum, 400 Airport Rd S534234
Dates: 13 Sep 2025, 10 am - 5 pm
Admission: Free

Looking for a thrilling and educational outing for the whole family? Head down to the Singapore Air Force Museum for a high-flying adventure at their special Air Force Day on 13 Sep 2025. Best of all, admission is completely free!

Recommended for parents and young children, this one-day only event is packed with exciting highlights:

  • Inspiring Talks: Hear stories from Singapore's first female fighter squadron commander, COL Lee Mei Yi (Callsign: Mystique). Happening at 11.30 am and 2 pm, come hear personal stories, rare insights, and behind-the-scenes experiences from her trailblazing career in the skies. 
  • Photo Opportunities: Children can try on an Air Force uniform at the RSAF Uniform Station or get up close with military aircraft like the F-15SG and C130 Hercules for memorable family photos.
  • Interactive Games: Explore the future of flight training with RSAF's cutting-edge AR Hololens experience and take on challenges at the Phygital Game Stations to test your reflexes, knowledge and piloting skills through fun, airplane-themed activities. 
  • Flight Simulators: Experience the thrill of flying with simulators from Singapore Youth Flying Club (SYFC) and Wings Academy, a truly unique experience for both kids and parents alike! 
  • Fun for Kids: Young ones can get hands-on with the aviation-themed Kids Craftwork and Engineering Basics: Wire Lock Activity where they will build and decorate their own aircraft-inspired crafts and learn how simple wire lock mechanisms work.
  • Photography Workshop: Learn photography tips from the Spotter’s Group, and use your newfound skills to capture the best photos of your family with historic aircrafts at the museum

5. Catch “Beautiful Oops! The Musical” at Gateway Theatre

”Beautiful Oops! The Musical” brings Barney Saltzberg’s award-winning, best-selling book Beautiful Oops! to life at Gateway Theatre’s Black Box, through music, dance, and interactive storytelling.

The musical champions imagination, play, and the courage to express oneself, showing young children how every mistake can become an opportunity to make something beautiful. The story follows a group of whimsical actors as they navigate everyday “oops” moments – spilled paint, torn paper, smudged drawings – and discover that even a less-than-perfect day can be full of possibilities.

With catchy songs, vibrant visuals, and a heartfelt message, this production is sure to captivate audiences of all ages, especially children aged 5 to 10.
