Here's our weekly list of family fun to-dos to help you create lots of fun times with the kids! As we step into 2024, here's some ideas of what to do in this new year!

1. Opening of the Pirates Sea Adventure at NEX Singapore 

Venue: Level 4 Roof-top of NEX Singapore
Opening Hours: 11 am - 7 pm
Admission: Free

Located at the roof-top of NEX, KidzPlay @ SkyGarden is a popular venue with families as it boast both a wet and dry play space for kids. The play space was temporarily closed and a new refreshed playground was reopened in 2023. The dry toddler's playground opened in mid-2023 while the wet water play only recently reopened!

The wet water play area, Pirates Sea Adventure, is suitable for children between 5 to 12 years old and offers water play options for families looking for a splashing good time! It offers a main Pirate Ship-themed play structure with a splashing bucket and more, as well as a Giant Octopus slide for little ones to slide on too! There's ample seating for parents and a changing room for kids too!

2. IKEA Alexandra Småland Reopens

Venue: 317 Alexandra Road, Level 1, Singapore 159965
Opening Hours:

  • Sun to Thu: 10am to 10pm (last admission at 8pm)
  • Fri to Sat: 10am to 11pm (last admission at 9pm)

Fee: Free admission (with entry requirements)

The reopening of IKEA Alexandra Småland brings great news for both adults and kids! The little ones can once again look forward to a time of fun and play at this free drop-off indoor playground, while the adults can get to do their shopping in peace!

This magical forest themed play space for 4 to 9 years old is the perfect play haven for kids to jump, climb, run and bounce around. Discover a ball pit filled with blue and red balls, a little slope that doubles as a slide and more! 

3. Play with Me: An Interactive Art Exhibition

Venue: Peace Centre, 1 Sophia Road, #02-20, S228161
Dates: 8 Dec - 30 Jan 2024
Admission: Free

Get ready for a playdate like no other at the "Play with Me?" interactive art exhibition. This first-of-its-kind "phygital" art exhibition promises an interactive exploration of play — blending creativity and technology through a personalised digital storytelling experience that enhances the physical exhibition experience.

At the exhibition, you will get to uncover your play personalities and explore which forms of play bring the greatest joy to your life, discover a world of AR and discover the 8 Play Personalities, and take part in various activities and games with the family! 

Try out the curated play stations designed for each personality. Interactive games and activities await, providing a tailored experience for every play style - perhaps even discovering how to better play with your little ones too! You will also discover various collaborative projects scattered throughout the exhibition where you can create and build on the art and stories of others too! 

4. Get Tickets to Weekend@Airshow

Venue: Changi Exhibition Centre
Dates: 24 - 25 Feb 2024
Admission: From $17

Aviation enthusiasts and families can look forward to more fun with the return of "Weekend@Airshow", formerly known as Public Days at the Singapore Airshow 2024. Scheduled for the 24-25 February 2024 weekend, this thrilling event will transform the Changi Exhibition Centre into a hub of excitement with aviation themed family-friendly activities.

From aerial performances to a static aircraft display, families can expect to be wow-ed throughout the day! Tickets are available on SISTIC from 2 Jan 2024, at $17 for children, $34 for adults, and $240 for 4 tickets and 1 car park label.

5. Visit A Fire Station Open House

Venue: Selected Fire Stations
Date: Every Saturday, 9.00am to 9.50am and 10.00am to 10.50am
Admission: FREE (walk-in, registration recommended) 

The popular Fire Station Open Houses has been an ongoing hit with families! Head down to any of the participating Fire Stations to meet the firefighters and paramedics, and learn more on how SCDF responds to emergencies! You will even get to watch fire fighting demonstrations, board the SCDF vehicles, don the protective gear and more! Activities may differ according to the station that you visit. 

Open Houses happen every Saturday with sessions at 9 am and 10 am. 

You are encouraged to make an online booking. This will enable our fire stations to plan ahead and provide guests with the best visitor experience. Walk-in visitors without an online booking will be allowed entry depending on the availability of visitor slots.
