Running from 1 August to 5 September 2026, the experience is held in conjunction with the Singapore Night Festival 2026 and invites you to rediscover familiar spaces through captivating lights, digital experiences and contemporary art.
What Is Light Together Bras Basah.Bugis 2026?

This yearās Light Together Bras Basah.Bugis takes inspiration from the Singapore Night Festival 2026 theme, Myths and Legends. Instead of simply retelling old stories, the installations offer fresh interpretations of Singaporeās folklore, traditions and cultural memories through light and technology. Ā Ā
You can explore installations across five locations in the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct, including Artsplace @ Waterloo Centre, Reflection Pool @ Bras Basah MRT Station, Stamford Place, Stamford Walkway and the National Museum of Singapore.
What Can You See at Light Together Bras Basah.Bugis?
1. Meet Mythical Creatures at Wandering Spirits Unbound

Make your way to Stamford Place to discover Wandering Spirits Unbound by Roger Ng Wei Lun, an artwork that brings together mythical creatures from Singaporeās stories and legends.
Youāll encounter familiar figures including the swordfish, Kusu Islandās tortoise, Pulau Ubinās legendary animals, Sang Nila Utamaās lion, the Monkey Man and Sang Kancil. The installation also incorporates Peranakan and batik motifs, reflecting Armenian Streetās identity as a Craft x Design hub.
2. See the National Museum Come to Life

At the National Museum of Singapore, look out for Voyage of Icons by Howie Kim, an animated projection mapping artwork that reimagines Singaporeās local folklore through a playful mix of cultural icons.
The projection transforms the museumās faƧade into a colourful visual journey, inviting you to spot familiar fragments of Singaporeās heritage and create your own interpretation of the stories. This installation runs from 1 to 12 August 2026.
3. Discover the Story Behind āPlant Chilli Then No Rain!ā

Head to the Reflection Pool @ Bras Basah MRT Station for Plant chilli then no rain! by Arup. Inspired by a local belief associated with warding off rain, the installation features larger-than-life chillies and onions placed on glowing skewers.Ā
You can also sit, linger and reflect on the superstitions passed down through generations and continue to shape everyday life. These moments prompt reflection on people's relationship with nature, and the enduring human desire to influence forces beyond our control.
4. Touch a Glowing Tree

At Artsplace @ Waterloo Centre, Touch wood! by Arup turns the familiar superstition of ātouching woodā into an interactive light experience.
A sculptural tree with softly glowing spheres comes alive with dynamic lighting when you interact with it, giving a visual form to the age-old act of seeking protection and avoiding bad luck.
5. Walk Through Mythical Singapore

For an immersive experience, make your way to Stamford Walkway for A Walk Through Mythical Singapore by HeritageSG.
The walkway is transformed into three mythical realms ā Sea, Land & Sky. As you explore, youāll encounter stories and legendary creatures including the swordfish from The Legend of Redhill, the giant tortoise associated with Kusu Island, the lion linked to Sang Nila Utama, as well as Chinese dragons and Garudas.
