Happening for only two days on 28 & 29 March 2026, Let’s Play! Weekend Festival will offer exciting weekend activities, from hands-on game stations to interactive performances, this action-packed festival brings together the joy of play, creativity, and cultural discovery. Come to the Asian Civilisations Museum this weekend and enjoy a fun family day out!

At this vibrant festival, you don’t just watch — you participate. You can challenge your family to classic and modern Asian games, explore immersive play zones, and uncover fascinating stories behind games from across Asia.

Whether you’re rolling dice, solving puzzles, or crafting your own board game, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and connection! From free programmes to ticketed experiences, you can explore a wide range of activities at your own pace! Check out the details below

Free Programmes

ACM & Me

Venue: Contemporary Gallery, Level 1
Time: 10am-7pm; closed from 12:30pm-2pm for daily cleaning
Admission: Free for Singaporeans and PR

Roll the dice and join the fun! Play snakes and ladders with a twist, uncover fun facts about Asian games, and unwind in a brand-new calm corner. Explore, create, and play your way through hands-on fun for all ages.

Parental supervision is required for children under 12. Entry rules apply. Book time slots here.

Pop-up Adventure Playground by Chapter Zero

Venue: ACM Green
Time: 28 & 29 March, Saturday & Sunday 10am-12pm, 2pm-4pm

Step into a pop-up playground where children lead the play. Using loose parts, open-ended materials, and reused everyday objects, children can invent, build, and explore as they create their own games and playful worlds.

Suitable for ages 5 and above with parental supervision.

Join us as Wormhole takes over the River Room for a weekend of play! Try a supersized hopscotch, take on a life-size Snakes Ladder with a game night twist, and discover playful surprises for all ages. Enjoy a pop-up market with coffee and baked goods, local artists, games, and more.

The Game Adventure: Team Challenge

Pick up a challenge map and set off on a playful adventure through the museum! Take on fun challenges inspired by games from across Asia, join bonus activities and collect stamps along the way. Trade your stamps for coins at the Game Treasure Shop and decide as a team how to spend them on prizes! While supplies last.

Popsicle Giveaway

Cool down with a popsicle! Be the first 100 visitors each day to the Let's Play! exhibition and flash your admission sticker to enjoy a treat on us. While supplies last. Limited to one redemption per person only.Ā

Up, Up & Away! Aeroplane Carnival Ride

Hop on a mini aeroplane carnival ride and let your imagination take flight! For safety, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children below 0.9m in height are not permitted on this ride.

Subject to weather conditions. The activity will be cancelled in case of rain.

Tinkling: Filipino Folk Dancing by DMI Studio

Venue: ACM Green

Discover the joy of Filipino heritage through Tinkling, the Philippines' beloved bamboo dance. Watch an energetic 5-minute performance, followed by an interactive session where you can try the dance yourself. It's not as easy as it looks!

Bubble Up! By CJ the Bubble GirlĀ

Step outside for a bubble-filled spectacle for the whole family. Watch shimmering bubbles float, pop, and swirl through the air in a playful performance! Subject to weather conditions. The activity will be cancelled in case of rain.

Balinese Dolanan by Eka Suwara SanthiĀ 

Venue: ACM Green

Experience the vibrant spirit of Bali through traditional children's games that celebrate friendship, community, and cultural heritage. Eka Suwara Santhi brings dance, games, and songs from Bali to Singapore, sharing traditions that bring people together.

Get Crafty! Make a Mini Congkak

Venue: Lobby, Level 1
Date: 28 March, Saturday 10am-4pm
Admission: Free with all-access admission

Create and decorate your own cardboard congkak, then challenge someone to a game. Don't forget to visit our special exhibition Let's Play! to spot the different congkak sets on display.

Suitable for ages 5 and above with parental guidance. While supplies last.

Get Crafty! Weave a Board Game

Venue: Lobby, Level 1
Date: 29 March, Sunday 10am-4pm
Admission: Free with all-access admission

Craft your own game board to take home! Choose between tic-tac-toe or checkers, weave colourful felt to create your board, and decorate wooden tokens to complete your set. With playing instructions included, you'll be ready for game time right away.

Let's Go! Weiqi Rising Stars Exhibition Match: Yang Taoyu vx. Jemma Chua

Venue: Scholars Gallery, Level 2
Date: 28 March, Saturday 11am
Admission: Free with admission sticker

Join an exciting exhibition match between Yang Taoyu and Jemma Chua, both Singapore 3 dan players and members of the Singapore National Team. They have represented Singapore internationally, including at the 2025 Silk Road Friendship Cup in Xinjiang and the 2026 Star of Three Cities Cup in Singapore. Jemma also serves as assistant coach for the National Youth Team.

Witness high-level strategic play as these rising stars demonstrate the skills that made them strong ambassadors of Singapore's weiqi programme. Free to watch with a general admission sticker. The match will be moderated by Mr Mok Jun Jie.

Let's Play! With the Singapore Weiqi Association

Venue: Scholars Gallery, Level 2

Enjoy a rare opportunity to play weiqi in the Scholars Gallery at ACM! Friendly facilitators from the Singapore Weiqi Association will guide you through this traditional game, long enjoyed by Chinese scholars. Families and players of all ages are welcome!

Let's Play! With the Association of Carrom Singapore

Venue: Lobby, Level 1

Join the Association of Carrom Singapore for a fun and engaging afternoon at the museum! Whether you are a beginner or simply curious, this is your chance to play, learn, and connect through this exciting game. Combining focus, accuracy, and tactical thinking, carrom is exciting for both participants and spectators.

Curious about shogi, or Japanese chess? Learn the basic moves and rules with representatives from the Singapore Shogi Group. Discover the story behind the game, and try solving tsumeshogi - puzzles that test your strategy skills.

Treasure Hunters: A Theatrical Odyssey with Space Boy & Time Pup

Space Boy and Time Pup reunite for a high-energy quest across space and time - and they need your help! Uncover ancient artefacts, solve playful challenges, and discover surprising facts about Asian games. Join Lunch Bunch in this action-packed adventure inspired by the Let's Play! special exhibition.

Let's Play! With Mahjong Lah

Venue: Riverfront Entrance, Level 1

Enjoy mahjong-themed games including wall-building challenges, tile-matching puzzles, mahjong tic-tac-toe, and Chinese character writing and colouring. A fun blend of learning and play for the whole family!

Babies on Board with Brocolily Ā

Let's Play! Curator Tour for Kids

Join curator Noorashikin Zulkifli for a special kids' tour of Let's Play! The Art and Design of Asian Games. Discover stories and hidden secrets behind the incredible game pieces and objects from across Asia. You'll also get the rare opportunity to touch and explore objects from the museum's handling collection.

Gassing Workshops: Traditional Spinning Top

Venue: Basement Foyer

Discover gasing, Singapore's traditional spinning top game that once had five dedicated courts across the island! Watch demonstrations by experienced practitioners from Singapore's last remaining gasing court at Kallang Bahru, then try spinning a top yourself.

The Girl Who Would be Queen: Chess Storytelling Workshop

Enter the world of Chessoria and join Vera on a daring adventure of mountain races, magical doors, and hidden treasure! Through interactive storytelling and mini-games, learn the basics of chess - from how the King, Queen, and Rook move to capturing, blocking, and planning your strategy.

WEIQI FOR KIDS: Beginner Workshop with James Lee, President of the Singapore Weiqi Association

Date: 29 March, Sunday, 2:30pm – 3:30pm

Admission: $10 refundable deposit/participant

Learn weiqi, the strategy game played with black and white stones! Also called go or baduk, this ancient game from China encourages careful thinking and planning. James Lee, President of the Singapore Weiqi Association, will introduce the basics in a fun and engaging way. You'll learn simple moves and be ready to challenge your friends and family.

Family Mahjong: Learn Together, Play Together with Mahjong Lah!

Venue: Riverfront Entrance
Date: 28 & 29 March, Saturday & Sunday 11:30am, 2pm
Admission: $10 refundable deposit/participant

Discover the strategy of mahjong in this hands-on family workshop! Learn how to set up the game, build complete hands, and master key actions like chi, pong, and hu. You'll also get an introduction to the scoring system.
