Be prepared to stay late and catch the Moon Mirrors in its full glory! Moon Mirrors is a floating light installation by the Discovery Lake and is best visited at night where you can catch the reflection of the lights on the peaceful lake.

Mid-Autumn themed Craft Activity
Date: 4 - 26 Sep 2021, Weekdays: 1pm to 6pm | Weekends: 11am to 8pm

Before heading out to the Discovery Lake, let your little ones make their own Rabbit Lantern using paper and craftwork! After finishing their paper Rabbit Lantern, they can bring it out to the Discovery Lake or the Lantern Walk Storytelling Tour that happens around the lake!
Just note that the lantern does not come with a light. You may purchase an LED light from the shop@SDC at just $1 - a pretty good way to complete the lantern walk experience!
Lantern Walk With Storytelling
Date: 18, 19 and 21 Sep 2021, 7 pm to 9 pm
Venue: Outdoors @ The Discovery Lake
Fees: Free (pre-registration required)
Bring along the newly self-made rabbit lantern as you embark on a Lantern Walk around the beautifully lit lake while listening to stories about the Mid-Autumn Festival! The storytellers will engage with your family as they share stories about the Mid-Autumn Festival, like why did the rabbit end up on the moon with Chang-e? Why is Wu Gang also on the moon, and why does he keep cutting the tree?
The walk happens every 30 mins between 7 pm and 9 pm. The walk is free and you can register for the Lantern Walk here. Pre-register early! Note that there are remaining slots for 21 Sep only.

We took part in a similar Lantern Walk at the Gallery where the kids (and parents) were wonderfully entertained by the engaging storytellers and gained new knowledge about the festival through the stories shared.

If you want to capture the serenity of the lake, you may wish to join in this easy watercolour painting session to explore different watercolour techniques and create your own unique moon portrait! Imagine the full moon's reflection on the lake, captured on paint by you and your kids!

Getting To Singapore Discovery Centre
The Singapore Discovery Centre is one of our favourite places, but it is not one of the most accessible. Here are your options to get to the SDC.
The easiest option is to drive, cab or private hire to the venue. Otherwise, you may take a train to Joo Koon MRT Station (EW29), before taking SBS bus service 182 or 182M. Alternatively, you can take a 10min walk to SDC from the station.
