The Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix is returning this October, and local families have a rare chance to step onto the track before the race weekend officially begins. The fan-favourite Thursday Pit Lane Experience is opening the Marina Bay Street Circuit early, giving fans an up-close look at the high-octane world of motorsport before the lights go out.

A total of 4,500 free tickets are available exclusively to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents via a public ballot. Successful applicants will each receive a pair of tickets, and you do not need to hold a race weekend ticket to enter.

Here is what you and your family can expect during the event and how to enter the ballot.

Walk the Pit Lane & See F1 Cars Up Close

Taking place the evening before the Circuit Park officially opens for the main race weekend, this event offers access to key areas usually reserved for team crew and drivers.

  • Explore the F1 Team Garages: Walk directly down the pit lane and peek inside the team garages. Children and parents can watch the mechanics and pit crews working on final technical preparations.

  • Get Up Close to the Cars: View the multi-million dollar F1 cars up close before they take to the track for Friday’s practice sessions.

  • Zone 1 F1 Village Access: Beyond the pit lane walk, attendees can explore the Zone 1 F1 Village, which features interactive fan activities and festival stations throughout the evening.

BYKidO Tip: If you plan to bring younger children, bring along a lightweight stroller or baby carrier. The pit lane walk involves continuous walking on track pavement, and navigating the crowds is much easier with a compact setup. Ensure the kids wear comfortable walking shoes and breathable clothing, as the evening will remain warm outdoors. Note that all patrons, including children of any age, must have a valid ticket for entry.
