For parents seeking an enriching yet thrilling family day out, the inaugural Defence Collective Festival (DC Fest) offers an unparalleled experience that balances education and excitement. Organised by Defence Collective Singapore (DCS), the event is a vibrant celebration of national defence heritage, inspiring young families and adventure seekers alike. The carefully curated activities provide an opportunity for children to develop resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

The festival runs across two weekends: 15, 16, 22, and 23 Nov 2025, from 10 am to 6 pm daily! General admission is free, and families can purchase an Activity Passport to enjoy special add-on activities and to collect exclusive Blind Box plushies! 

The Operation: Defending Against the Black Shadow

Following the defence theme, the DC Fest invites families to join a high-level operation to take on "Black Shadow," a mysterious cyber group threatening the nation. This exciting, narrative-driven challenge take place across three venues:

  • Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC): Open on all four days, tackling Ground Zero – The Hidden Code.

  • Singapore Navy Museum (SNM): Open on the first weekend only (15th and 16th November), countering naval sabotage with Dark Waters – The Safeguard Signal.

  • Singapore Air Force Museum (SAFM): Open on the first weekend only (15th and 16th November), defending air-defence radar with Operation Skyfall Protocol. (Note: While admission is free, registration is required to visit SAFM due to limited capacity).

There will be lots of fun and free activities happening across all 3 venues, but the Activity Passport is your family's ticket to the special paid activities and to redeem exclusive (and cute) Blind Box plushies. Passes can be purchased online, with limited passes available on-site for purchase.

  • Single Museum Pass (1 Museum): $12, entitles the holder to participate in all paid activities at 1 museum and 1 Blind Box redemption.
  • All-Access Museum Pass (All 3 Museums): $32.00, entitles the holder participate in all paid activities at all 3 museums and 1 Blind Box redemption at each museum (3 total).

Key Passport Details for Parents:

  • Reward: Complete at least one paid activity per museum to redeem a mystery Blind Box Plushie, which is unique to that venue (e.g., Captain Ted from SAFM).

  • Redeeming More Blind Boxes: Purchase multiple Activity Passport to redeem more blind boxes. 

  • Child Policy: Each adult Activity Passport holder allows complimentary access for one child aged 5 years and below to the paid activities. This complimentary access does not include an additional Blind Box redemption.

Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) Missions (Available All 4 Days):

  • Explorer SingaPaw's Cultural Quest: An action-packed scavenger hunt for families! Search for hidden checkpoints and team up to complete the challenges! Celebrate on Singapore's vibrant multicultural spirit while having fun with family and friends!

  • Lieutenant Eli's Sky Search: A scavenger hunt where families will be searching for hidden clues to crack secret codes to protect the Control Tower from a cyber-attack.

  • Captain Ted's Little Pilots' Runway: Kids will take on the role of a fighter pilot and  manoeuvre an electric kart through a flight path filled with obstacles. (Suitable for children aged 4 to 12; height restrictions may apply).

Singapore Navy Museum (SNM) Missions (15 & 16 Nov Only):

  • Military Expert Dior's Trade Quest: Enjoy a mix of digital and hands-on challenges involving puzzles and challenges to piece together a 'Sea-cret Master Plan'.

  • Lieutenant Colonel Seymour's Sensory Chamber: Put yourselves in the shoes of naval divers at this immersive zone with interactive activities that engage the senses to test personal grit and the power of teamwork.

Free Activities: Non-Stop Discovery and Fun for All

Even without a passport, dozens of free and easy activities are open to everyone, ensuring a fun day out:

  • Hands-on Fun: Take part in the AR Colouring Workshop (SDC), design a Semaphore Flag (SNM), and build a model at the Aircraft Workshop (SAFM).

  • Thrilling Challenges: Test your reflexes at the Combat Fighter: The Reaction Game (SAFM), take aim at the Crossfire Paintball (SDC), and navigate an obstacle course in the Submarine Challenge (SNM).

  • Unique Experiences: Children can suit up in authentic Air Force uniforms for photos (SAFM) or learn basic first aid in the First Responder programme (SDC - pre-registration required).

  • Expert Insight: Pre-register for the Let's Get Outfield! programme (SDC) to catch ex-SAF Ranger and viral 'mess-tin chef' Aziz Shafii demonstrating how soldiers celebrate in the field.

Singapore Discovery Centre: Your Recommended Starting Point

Don't know where to start your adventure? We recommend that families visit the Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) as it offers the most extensive range of activities, most of which are free, and it is open across all four days of the festival.

Activities available at SDC, in addition to the Passport missions, include:

  • Warrior Challenge: Fun and physical challenges and team missions aimed at building resilience and camaraderie. Covered shoes are mandatory for this activity. 
  • Build The Nation: A Total Defence-themed play zone using giant foam blocks to build Singapore-inspired structures.
  • Carnival Booths: A games area where children can have fun and score prizes.
  • KAKEE Radio Truck and DJs: Play games and be entertained by the team from KAKEE!

Planning Your Visit: A Suggested Itinerary to Complete All Three Museums 

For families aiming to collect all three unique Blind Box Plushies on the first weekend (15 or 16 Nov), here's our suggested itinerary for you to visit all 3 museums within one day using the complimentary loop shuttle bus:

  1. Start at SDC (10am): Complete a paid mission to claim the 1st blind box. We have included additional time for you to enjoy the other free fun activities. Board the loop shuttle bus to SAFM at 12 pm.

  2. Visit SAFM (arrive 12.45 pm): Complete a paid mission to claim the 2nd blind box. Consider a quick bite at the Food Truck before boarding the loop shuttle bus to SNM at 2 pm.

  3. Visit SNM (arrive 2.30 pm): Complete a paid mission to claim the 3rd blind box. Explore the SNM Galleries and Naval Engineering Workshop.

  4. Departure: As there are more activities at the SDC, we recommend catching the loop shuttle bus back to SDC at your convenience (60mins ride), or stay at the SNM and grab dinner at the Food Truck. 

Loop Shuttle Bus Service: Complimentary loop shuttle bus services between the three museums operate on 15 and 16 Nov only to facilitate the cross-museum visit. The service runs at one-hour intervals, 

  • SDC → SAFM →SNM (From 11:00am to 1:00pm): Last pick-up to SAFM is at 4:00pm
  • SDC → SNM → SAFM (From 11:30am to 1:30pm) at one-hour intervals
