Looking for a meaningful way to celebrate Chinese New Year with your family? This festive season, it’s time to bring your children right into the heart of tradition, culture, and hands-on fun at CNY Family FUN 2026. Happening from 30 January to 1 February 2026 at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Singapore Conference Hall.

Discover Traditions Through Play and Exploration

At CNY Family FUN 2026, you’re not just watching cultural performances but you’ll also indulge in various exciting activities. With 25 family-friendly programmes, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for your kids to learn while having fun!

Let your little ones marvel at the Finding Har马ny roof garden installation, where colourful horse sculptures welcome the Year of the Fire Horse. While exploring, you can also check out the Year of the Horse zodiac forecast, sparking conversations about heritage, symbolism, and what the new year may bring for your family.

The exhibition text will be available in English and Chinese, taking place at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, Roof Garden, from now till 20 May 2026, 10am to 10pm daily.

Catch Lion Dance Performances Your Kids Will Love

Few things excite children during Chinese New Year are the lion dances—and you’ll enjoy it here and get to see them all. The key highlight of CNYFF 2026 is the free performances by five different local lion dance troupes, happening from 31 January 2026 and 1 February 2026 from 1pm — 7pm  at SCCC’s Level 1 Concourse. 

Over two festive days, you can watch five different local lion dance troupes showcase unique styles, namely Fujian Green Lion Dance, Hainanese Lion Dance, Hakka Qilin Dance, Golden Lion Dance and Fo He Lion Dance.

Here are the performance schedules that you can look forward to:

31 Jan: 

  • 1pm: Fujian Green Lion Dance
  • 3pm: Hainanese Lion Dance
  • 4pm: Hakka Qilin Dance
  • 5pm: Golden Lion Dance
  • 6pm: Fo He Lion

1 Feb:

  • 1pm: Fujian Green Lion Dance
  • 3pm: Hainanese Lion Dance
  • 4pm: Hakka Qilin Dance
  • 5pm: Fo He Lion

These free performances offer a great chance for you to introduce your kids to Singapore’s diverse cultural heritage in a lively, memorable way.

Join Hands-On Workshops and Storytelling Adventures

If your children love getting involved, you won’t want to miss the Children’s Lion and Dragon Dance Workshops, where children can learn basic lion and dragon dance movements from experienced instructors, and try playing traditional drums and cymbals [Please note: these workshops are fully booked/sold out.]

You can also follow along in the Roving Storytelling Experience, where children can join a fun-filled adventure and search for three characters hidden throughout SCCC to uncover the meanings behind three special Chinese New Year greetings.

Win Festive Rewards at the Mission-Based Quest

Embark on a fun-filled quest this CNY, complete the challenges to redeem tiered rewards such as limited edition festive red packets, a snack pack, or a drink voucher (while stocks last).

You can even turn the day into a mini adventure by joining the mission-based quest, where completing activities earns your family festive rewards such as limited-edition red packets.

The activity will take place at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre Ho Bee Concourse, Level 1 on 31 Jan & 1 Feb from 1pm — 7pm.

Don’t Forget to Visit The “MA”rket Place

Beyond performances and workshops, CNY Family FUN 2026 is packed with moments made for family bonding. Take a spin on the Huat-goes-round carousel, pose together at CNY-themed photobooths, or enjoy craft activities and snacks at The “MA”rket Place.

Drop by for family-friendly craft activities such as couplet writing with seal stamping, accessories making and colouring, enjoy theatre performances about CNY, sample free festive snacks, and soak in the festive atmosphere! The activities will be conducted in English and Mandarin.
