Orchard Road Shines Bright for SG60 with Christmas on A Great Street 2025

Celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday with dazzling lights, festive markets, and family fun along Orchard Road this holiday season!

Christmas on A Great Street 2025: A Grand Celebration to Mark SG60

This year-end, Christmas on A Great Street returns in spectacular fashion as part of Singapore’s SG60 celebrations! Orchard Road will be transformed into a 3.1km festive wonderland, featuring the beloved Merli, sparkling light displays, elegant ribbon swirls, and shimmering Christmas wreaths in shades of gold, rose gold, and silvery white.

President Tharman Shanmugaratnam will officiate the Light-Up Ceremony on 8 November, co-organised by the Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) and Community Chest in collaboration with SG Cares Giving Week — raising funds for over 300 social service programmes and projects.

The decorations, themed around warmth, joy, and togetherness, weave the SG60 logo into the tapestry of festive lights, celebrating Singapore’s unity and transformation through the decades.

Picture-Perfect Festive Installations

Families can capture magical moments at four distinctive photo installations celebrating both Christmas and Singapore, including a trishaw led by reindeer, a miniature version of the main arch with Merli, a giant festive wreath and the iconic Toa Payoh Dragon Playground motif.

This year's photo spots offers lots of local reference as we celebrate the end of SG60 with a bang! 

Families will also find a dedicated photo podium at the Main Arch in front of ION Orchard that offers the perfect backdrop for family photos.

The Great Christmas Village at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza

Families can look forward to not one but two festive villages this year! The first, the revamped Great Christmas Village at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza will be brimming with family-friendly fun, headlined by the Kiztopia Christmas Carnival. With lots of rides and attractions, this will be THE holiday spot to bring the kids!

Families can look forward to attractions such as the six-seater Holiday Carousel, Raby & Tiger’s Christmas Bounce, Bell’s Ferris Wheel, and Turbo Twisters, featuring a series of futuristic LED ride-ons that spin, glide, and light up the arena.

Here, families can also snap photos with the 14-metre-tall Mastercard Christmas tree with accompanying snowfall shows at 8pm and 9pm nightly and enjoy their time at the new Christmas Market featuring over 10 F&B and retail booths, a Sunbird Brewing Company bar, live house performances, and a cosy upper-level lounge.

Little ones can also explore the interactive “Santa House” by Hitachi, complete with a fireplace-inspired setup for that nostalgic Christmas feel.

Get your festive shopping fix at Night at Orchard, a lively street bazaar happening from 28–30 November and 26–28 December along the pedestrian walkway between Wisma Atria and ION Orchard.

Celebrate Christmas in Singapore

From 16–22 December, the Celebrate Christmas in Singapore event features daily carolling, storytelling sessions, and activity booths, creating a joyful community atmosphere for families to enjoy together.

Great Christmas Eve Street Party

Location: Stretch of Orchard Road from Paterson Junction (ION Orchard/Tang Plaza) to Bideford Junction (Ngee Ann City/Paragon)
Street Party Timing: 8pm – 12.15am

The Great Christmas Eve Street Party, now in its third year, returns as a show-stopping outdoor celebration! Stretching 400m from ION Orchard to Ngee Ann City, the night will feature live stage performances, roving mascots, pop-up stalls, food trucks, and a Christmas countdown at 8pm.

Note: Orchard Road will be closed to vehicles from Paterson Road junction to Bideford Road junction from 6pm on 24 Dec 2025 – 2am on 25 Dec 2025.
