The National Museum of Singapore will be presenting Children’s Season at the National Museum 2020, themed Get Curious! Change is OK!. The museum explores the topic of change amid the current uncertainties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, through a variety of self-facilitated onsite activities and accessible online programmes for young museum-goers and their families to enjoy.
Onsite Activities
Onsite programmes include the Get Curious! Gallery Hunt, a tic-tac-toe quest for families to complete, and the Get Curious! Gallery Trial, where kids can explore the topic of resilience and innovation through the displayed artefacts.
Get Curious! Gallery Hunt

Take part in a tic-tac-toe game in the galleries and discover fun facts about the artefacts! Simply create an account on this microsite, hunt for the Get Curious! standees in our galleries and scan the QR codes and answer a simple question of the exhibit to “collect” them!
Complete one line of the tic-tac-toe to redeem a NMS Doraemon Singapore-themed 3D miniature magnet collectible designed by Supermama! Complete two lines, and you can take part in a lucky draw to win a set of Doraemon collectibles!
Limited to 1 redemption per account per day, on a first-come, first-served basis.
BYKIDO's Tip: We really liked that the quest centers around Singapore's history and the kids get to learn little tit-bits of information through a gamification process.
Get Curious! Gallery Trail

Look out for QR codes on five selected Get Curious! stickers in the Singapore History Gallery! Scan them to listen to bite-sized audio clips on the artefacts’ stories of resilience and innovation, as shared by our Museum Volunteers.
Family Mindfulness At The National Museum

Visit some of the museum’s most well-loved spaces, and practise mindfulness through fun activities, breathing exercises and relaxing stretches.
Accompanying activity sheets related to the videos will be available from 21 November. Online videos will be available for those who wishes to take part from home, and will be viewing until 27 December 2020.

Join this this fun-filled music-making workshop where you will craft your own DIY music instrument and shake away to create ensemble music together in a socially responsible manner.

Ai Love Museums Virtual Hide and Seek

Join Ai and his grandpa on their visit to the Voices of Singapore gallery, where they discover the importance of the arts and culture in our Singaporean identity. Play an online hide-and-seek game, discover clues to hidden treasures, and learn more about the fascinating stories behind the artefacts.
Ai will be travelling across the members of the Museum Roundtable for Children's Season 2020.
Childhood Memories: Virtual Gallery Tour and Inter-generational Art Jamming

Calling all parents, grandparents and children – join artist Tham Pui San and his grandson on a virtual tour of our Growing Up gallery, in which they compare their childhood experiences. Don’t forget to have your favourite art materials ready as the session will end with everyone sketching and painting your fondest childhood memories!
The video will also be available for viewing until 27 December 2020.
The Nursury Rhyme Project: Online Interactive Storytelling - Going Home

The Theatre Practice’s beloved The Nursery Rhymes Project: Imagine Our Songs characters, Kaya and Roti, are back! Join them for a brand new story about a lost beetle who is trying to find his way back home. Faced with many challenges, he gets help from a few special friends. Change can be scary, but if we all stick together, we can overcome any challenge that comes our way!
Get off your couch and sing along to this high-energy, interactive performance. Then, unleash your imagination and work together with the actors to create a brand new story on the live-stream itself!
