Sustainability Workshops and More for families with CapitaLand's Let's Get Down to Earth

Go green and have fun with the 5th edition of CapitaLand’s ‘Let’s Get Down to Earth’ campaign.

CapitaLand’s signature sustainability campaign is back for 2026, and it’s bigger than ever. Running across major malls like Plaza Singapura, Bugis+, and IMM, this year’s "Let’s Get Down to Earth" event focuses on showing families that going green doesn't have to be a chore.

From interactive carnivals and musical workshops for the little ones to massive recycling rewards, there are plenty of ways for your family to bond while doing something good for the planet.

Hands-On Workshops for Little Eco-Warriors

Engage your child’s creativity with workshops that turn "trash" into treasure. These sessions are perfect for teaching children about circularity in a fun, tangible way.

• Yamaha Make & Play Percussion Workshop (Tampines Mall, 22, 27 & 28 Mar): Aimed at children aged 3 to 9, this session lets kids build their own percussion instruments and participate in a guided music play session. It’s a fantastic way to introduce rhythm and recycling simultaneously.

• Glass Bottle Upcycling by Spotlight (Plaza Singapura, 27 & 28 Mar): Head over to Plaza Singapura to transform ordinary glass bottles into personalised home décor using Cricut crafting techniques.

• Neoprene Accessory Upcycling (CapitaSpring, 2 Apr): Visit the CapitaSpring City Room to see how old wetsuits are given a second life as functional accessories.

Eco Carnivals & Family Performances

If your kids have energy to burn, the Small Actions, Big Impact Eco Carnival is a must-visit. Moving across multiple locations including Funan and Sengkang Grand Mall from now till 4 Apr, the carnival features:

• Recycling Games: Take on the “Sort & Recycle” and “Decomposition Challenge.” If you recycle five metal cans, you can even snag a $5 CapitaStar eVoucher (while stocks last!).

• Succulent Planter DIY: Learn how to repurpose plastic bottles into cute planters for your home.

• Earth Hour Special: On 28 March, don’t miss the Green Drumming performance at Plaza Singapura. Watch as performers use instruments made entirely from recycled plastics to create a high-energy show.

Recycle & Reward: Turn Clutter into Vouchers

Now is the perfect time to clear out those "junk drawers" at home. Several brands are offering rewards for your recycling efforts:

• E-Waste Rewards: Recycle old cables, phones, and small electronics at participating CapitaLand locations.

• Beauty Empties: Bring any brand of empty beauty containers to L’Occitane boutiques to earn rewards through their Big Little Things programme.

• Red Packet Recycling: If you still have leftover red packets from Chinese New Year, you can drop them off at Geneco bins located across various CapitaLand malls until 31 March.
