Are you looking for an engaging and educational activity for your family during the September school holidays? Don't miss Building Singapore Festival: From Dreams to Reality, a fun family event organised by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
Step into a world of discovery as the festival brings you on a fun-filled interactive journey to learn how the buildings and spaces around us are thoughtfully planned, designed and built – from the homes we live in to the MRT stations, parks, and shopping malls we enjoy every day. Gain an appreciation of our city's spaces while having fun!
What to Expect at the Event

Start your journey with your very own "Event License" and collect stamps at all 5 stations to redeem an exclusive collectible – a perfect keepsake for young city builders!
There are five themed experience zones, each offering a glimpse into how our city is designed, built and maintained. At the zones, families can also take part in role-playing digital games where you can step into the shoes of real-life professionals too!
Sounds interesting? Here are what you can expect at each zone:
- What Makes A City? - Discover the fascinating work of the built environment sector and its everyday impact on our lives.
- Designing Our City! - See how buildings and spaces are imagined and designed to meet the needs of families and communities. Step into an Architect's shoes through an interactive role-play activity where players get to create building for people to gather, learn and play.
- Building Our City! - Learn how engineers and builders bring ideas to life using smart, sustainable methods. Get hands-on with a "Tunnel Boring Machine simulation game" where you will dig and build the newest MRT line! Or be a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer by connecting buildings with essential utilities, such as water and electricity.
- Keeping Our City Going! - Manage incidents and dispatch robots to keep buildings safe, clean and energy-efficient with a “Command Center Game”, or pilot a drone for building inspections.
- What's Your Super Trait? - Explore exciting careers within the built environment and future possibilities. There’s even a personality quiz to help visitors discover the role that suits them best!
