Opened in July 2021, EXP, E-sports Experience Centre, is a 12,000 sqft gaming venue located at Kallang Wave Mall. It houses a comprehensive e-sports ecosystem under one roof, including an integrated live-streaming-ready e-sports event space, pro-esports team rooms, e-sports cafe, open-concept gaming and a LAN gaming area.
Free-To-Play Venue
The venue offers the latest gaming products and equipment, and it is marketed as free-to-play. That means, you can step into the shop and simply try your hands at any of the gaming consoles, mobile games and PC games available.
This includes different gaming consoles such as Nintendo Switch, Playstation and XBox, as well as top-range gaming PCs. There are Pokemon Tretta machines available at the shop but these are not free to play.
Cozy Area
Beanbags are provided at the gaming console area for gamers and audience to get cozy at. Each console is preloaded with a game and you can simply grab an empty spot and start playing. There are also mobile devices and PCs with games loaded for you to experience too. There is a limit of 1 hour play to allow others to have the opportunity to play too.
*We were there on a quiet day and spent an hour on the games. The staff spoke with us and shared about the store's concept, but otherwise, they left us alone to game on the console. That being said, please don't hog the machines and have the kids share with others as well.
A Gaming Venue - A Gaming Facility
Not just a gaming venue, EXP is a gaming facility with event space for live-streaming along with rooms dedicated to pro-esports teams and even a cafe too.
For families looking to purchase the latest games or consoles, you can check with the staff for the latest models and if it is available for free play, you may even experience it before purchase!
Where is it?
EXP is located at L2 of Kallang Wave Mall, next to Anytime Fitness. Just head up the escalator and you will see it in front of you.
