A Small Playground With Plenty To Explore

Jem Play Playground is on the smaller side, but thereās a good mix of activities for kids, including climbing, balancing, crawling, bouncing and sensory play.
While it may not be a destination playground, there are enough features to keep kids occupied for a decent amount of time.
Climbing, Netted Sections & Trampolines

The netted section is one of our favourites. Itās wide enough for kids to carefully walk across, turning it into a simple balancing challenge.
The climbing section features rubber stepping pods that can be used in different ways ā kids can step across them or sit in them as hanging seats.

Thereās also a short tunnel for little ones to scramble through, while the trampolines offer a fun way to burn off some extra energy.

For younger children who may not be ready for the bigger climbing features, there are also play panels at a more accessible height, giving them something to explore at their own pace.
Mostly Sheltered From The Rain
The playground is mostly sheltered, making it a useful option when the weather isnāt cooperating.
Take Care On The Uneven Surfaces
Some parts of the playground have uneven surfaces, so kids may need to take a little extra care, particularly when moving quickly between the different sections.
Some Play Features Need Maintenance

The main drawback during our visit was the maintenance. About half of the playground was not working, which reduced the number of features available.
Even so, there was still enough to keep the kids occupied for a reasonable amount of time. Just keep in mind that the experience may vary depending on which features are operational.
Look Out For The Crocodile On Level 6

If youāre exploring Jem with the kids, head up to Level 6 to spot the crocodile feature.
Itās not another playground, but itās a fun little detail to look out for while youāre at the mall.
Final Thoughts
Jem Play is a simple, free option for families, especially if youāre already in the Jurong East area.
The variety of play features means thereās something for kids at different ages and stages, from play panels for younger children to climbing, balancing and bouncing for those who want something more active.
While the maintenance issues are a drawback, thereās still enough here to make a visit worthwhile.
BYKidO Tip

Combine a playground visit with a meal or shopping trip at Jem for an easy family outing. If youāre exploring the mall further, make a quick stop at Level 6 to look out for the crocodile feature too.
