The Civil Service Club (CSC) is a social club for members and public service officers, offering a wide range of facilities and amenities across its 4 clubhouses in Changi, Loyang, Bukit Batok and Tessensohn. Club members enjoy additional benefits at the clubs but did you know that the CSC chalets and amenities are open to the public too? That means you do not need to be a member to book a chalet, to visit for a meal or to have a go at the bowling alleys!

At CSC @ Changi I, families will find peaceful and idyllic staycation options and we had the opportunity to enjoy a stay at a Family Suite to see what it was like. Let's take a look at our experience, and why you may wish to consider a stay for your next family staycation!

*The stay at the family suite was sponsored by the Civil Service Club so that we can experience a stay and share our thoughts on it.

Our Room - The Family Suite

The spacious family suite is located at level 2 of CSC @ Changi I and offers 86 sqm of space across 2 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchenette and balcony. The kids will definitely appreciate the space to run around, do cart wheels, and to play hide and seek!

The Bedrooms

The main bedroom comes with a king size bed and the other room had 2 super single beds. For larger families, there is sufficient space for a family of 5, with 3 on the king size bed. The kids were pretty excited to find a TV in each room with cable connection.

Both bedrooms come with an attached bathroom. While the bathrooms do not have bathtubs, those that enjoy rain showers will definitely appreciate the water pressure of the ones here. You may just want to stand under the rain shower a little longer since you are on a staycation!

The Kitchenette

While we did not use any of the equipment, the kitchenette was well stocked with an induction cooker, pots, pans, plates, bowls and cups. You will also get a good-sized fridge (the kind that can fit a proper birthday cake ), microwave, water dispenser machine (with both hot and cold water) and a coffee machine.

Since the equipment is available to store and prepare food, we suggest bringing snacks or even simple meals so that you can feed the little ones when they go "hungry" at weird timings - like just before a meal or when its time to sleep!

The Balcony

There are 3 family suite units at CSC @ Changi I and we were lucky to have the room (201) that is nearest to the pool. Here, we were able to enjoy a great view of the sea, Changi Beach, and the pool .

There are chairs and tables at the balcony, making it a nice spot to chill and to enjoy a drink in the evening (preferably when the kids have gone to bed)! If you intend to do so, we encourage the use of insect repellent too!

Rooftop For A Better View

If you enjoyed the view from the balcony, we will strongly recommend that you head to the rooftop for a better view of the surrounding. From higher up, you will be able to get a better view of the horizon and also spot the low-flying planes soaring into the sky. For a moment, you may just forget that you are still in Singapore.

We prefer the day view as it allows you to take selfies and wefies with the family, having the vast sea and blue sky as background. The night view will give you a good picture of the pool but it will be too dark to take any pictures of the family.

Infinity Pool & Play Area

The most exciting activity for families will be the pool! Here, you will find a lap pool, a children's wading pool with play features and an infinity pool facing the sea with jacuzzi functions* too! There is also a pirate ship-themed playground to complement the play experience for the little ones!

*The jacuzzi is currently unavailable

Do note that pool access is only for club members or guests at the chalets. With the family suite, we received 4 free pool passes which can be used to get an hour access to the pool each. There is a maximum capacity of 25 pax in the pool area and access is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additional pool passes can be purchased at the pool counter at $2 per pax for weekdays and $3 per pax for weekends. Pool passes are required as long as you are entering the pool area, even if you are not swimming. If your child is below a certain age (we think it is 6 years old), an adult can enter the pool area for free.

Resort Bowl

In case of bad weather (or if you love bowling), families may also visit Resort Bowl located at level 3 of the Recreation Complex. Have a game or 2 at this 20 lane bowling alley and if the kids need it, there are also bumper rails on selected lanes for them.

Lanes are available from $4.20 per game for the public.

Other Nearby Things To Do

Beyond the walls of the club, families who are looking to explore the area will be pleased to find a wide variety of things to do in the vicinity, this includes a visit to Changi Boardwalk, a stroll at Changi Beach Park or even to board a bumboat to Pulau Ubin

F&B Options

Families will not need to worry about their meals! The popular Changi Village Hawker Centre is just 5 mins away on foot and there are many cafes and restaurants in the vicinity too! If you do not wish to go far, below are 3 F&B options located within CSC @ Changi I.

KiBar Japanese Grill + Bistro

KiBar combines rustic beachside flair and vintage deco with a modern twist. If the weather permits, families will be seated outdoor under fairy lights decorated stands and vintage decor - the perfect setting for capturing your family's memories in photos and even for any special date night with your spouse. If it rains, families will be seated in the Victorian-decorated "wet weather" room.

There is also a bar area stocked with all types of spirits, but this area is not open for families with kids below 12 years old.

Muslim Delights

Located at CSC @ Changi I, Muslim Delights is one of the top Halal catering services in Singapore and was a Michelin Bib Gourmand awardee in 2018. From a small Nasi Padang stall in an army camp, Muslim Delights has risen to become the preferred caterer for local celebrities including singer Taufik Batista. The must-tries include beef rendang and nasi ayam!

Al Capone's

With 11 outlets islandwide, Al Capone's may not need much introductions. The bar/restaurant serves Italian fusion food and affordable booze. It is conveniently located beside the pool area for families to enjoy a meal after a swim or for parents to keep an eye on their kids at the pool.

Chalet Packages and Reservations

There are different chalet options available for families, this includes the family suite that we stayed in as well as the larger Villas. Rates for the family suite starts from $413 for public and $282 for club members per night.

Check-in starts from 3pm to 6pm and check-out is advised upon checking-in. There will be staggered check out timing for guests. With the Family Suite, you will also receive 2 parking coupons, each allowing you 1 complimentary exit.

The public can make booking up to 60 days in advance. You can get the latest pricing and check on reservation of the different chalets from CSC @ Changi or check the Wonderful Wednesday promotions for weekly last-minute deals of up to 40% off!

Otherwise, from now till 31 May 2022, use promo code: WOW20 to enjoy 20% off all room types PLUS free 4 bowling games for off-peak bookings. Promo code is not valid for super-peak periods.
