Singapore will have 5 long weekends in 2022 from the 11 gazetted Public Holidays! With planning, you may even have a long weekend with every Public Holiday!

From the 11 gazetted Public Holidays, Singaporean's will get to enjoy at least 5 long weekends in 2022, one more than 2021. This includes a weekend that will stretch over 4 days in May! 

And with planning, you may even be enjoying a long weekend for every Public Holiday in 2022! Find out more below!

2022 Public Holidays

The 11 gazetted Public Holidays for 2022 in Singapore are: 

  • Jan 1 (Sat): New Year’s Day
  • Feb 1 & 2 (Tue & Wed): Chinese New Year
  • Apr 15 (Fri): Good Friday
  • May 1 (Sun): Labour Day
  • May 2 (Mon): Hari Raya Puasa
  • May 15 (Sun): Vesak Day
  • Jul 9 (Sat): Hari Raya Haji
  • Aug 9 (Tue): National Day
  • Oct 24 (Mon): Deepavali
  • Dec 25 (Sun): Christmas Day

2022 School Holidays

Do take note of the following school holidays and scheduled school breaks as announced by the Ministry of Education on 11 Aug 2022. 

School Holidays: Primary and Secondary Schools

  • March Holidays: 12 Mar (Sat) - 20 Mar (Sun) 
  • June Holidays: 28 May (Sat) - 26 Jun (Sut) 
  • September Holidays: 3 Sep (Sat) - 11 Sep (Sun)
  • December Holidays: 19 Nov (Sat) - 31 Dec (Sat)

Scheduled School Breaks

  • Youth Day: 3 Jul (Sun), following Monday, 4 Jul, will be a school holiday
  • Day after National Day: 10 Aug (Wed)
  • Teacher's Day: 2 Sep (Fri)
  • Children's Day: 7 Oct (Fri)

2022 Long Weekends

Of the 11 public holidays in 2022, 3 will fall on Sundays, 2 on Mondays and 1 on a Friday. If you get a day off immediately for public holidays on Saturdays, you will be happy to know that there are 2 Public Holidays that fall on Saturdays!
