Hong Kong Disneyland With Kids: A Ride Height Restrictions Guide

Hong Kong Disneyland may be small in size, but it’s packed with exciting rides for all ages. Use this ride height restrictions guide to plan ahead and enjoy a smoother family day at the park

Here’s something we learnt: never judge a theme park by its size. Hong Kong Disneyland might be small, but it has plenty of super fun rides for all ages. Some of these rides are even exclusive to Hong Kong!

We especially like how this park puts a spin on some of the classic Disneyland rides, such as Hyperspace Mountain, a Star-Wars themed version of the usual Space Mountain ride; Ant-Man & The Wasp: Nano Battle!, a new and improved version of the previous Buzz Lightyear ride; as well as Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars, which takes the usual Big Thunder Mountain Railroad rollercoaster to a whole other level.

The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh

Hop into a cute hunny pot, and roll into the Hundred Acre Wood where lots of adventures await! Bounce up and down with Tigger, fall headfirst into a kaleidoscopic dream world, and watch Pooh get his paws on some honey.

Frozen Ever After

The best part about this ride? Rides can be as short as five minutes! And when you contrast that with Tokyo’s version, which sees wait-times of up to 300 minutes, you know you’ve got a winner.

Granted that the one in Tokyo has better animatronics, the Hong Kong ride has the same boat concept. The ride is gorgeous, but look out for the large dip at the end!

Tip: The dip at the end is steep, and might scare some young children. 

Cinderella Carousel

Located right smack in the middle of Fantasyland, the Cinderella Carousel is always a hit with the whole family. Choose your horse, and off you go!

Mystic Manor

This, in our opinion, is one of the best rides in the park. Take a tour of Lord Henry Mystic’s mansion, which houses an impressive collection of art and artefacts. However, things go haywire when his mischievous pet monkey, Albert, uses a magical relic to make everything come to life! 

Tip: This ride is fun, but can scare young children as well. There are some dark scenes with loud noises; as well as images of Medusa and looming Venus flytraps. So ride with caution!

Slinky Dog Spin

Clamber into Slinky’s tail, and hold on tight as you whip round and round. The kids absolutely love this ride!

Orbitron

Enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Tomorrowland as you soar through the skies in a flying saucer.

It’s A Small World

This is one of our favourite rides. Glide along in a boat as you sail through all seven continents. Each continent is elaborately decorated, complete with dancing and singing dolls. Even better, the ride is fully air-conditioned, and there’s hardly any wait most of the time.

Tip: See if you can spot Disney characters along the way, such as Ariel the Little Mermaid and Woody from Toy Story.

Mad Hatter Tea Cups

Are you ready to join the Mad Hatter for a tea party? Grab hold of the spinner, and whirl round and round in colourful tea cups. 

Jungle River Cruise

Go on an adventure through the jungle, and see which animals you’d encounter. We love the skipper’s enthusiastic commentary, which adds to the fun.

Tip: There’s even a special queue for English rides.

Dumbo The Flying Elephant

A classic favourite, this ride takes you up into the skies on board a cute little elephant. Bonus: you’ll get to enjoy fantastic views of the castle during your flight too

Ant-Man & The Wasp: Nano Battle!

And a battle it’ll be! Take a gun to shoot targets, and see who can rack up more points. Who will emerge victorious?

Minimum height requirement of 81cm

Toy Soldier Parachute Drop

Sit snug in a capsule as you get hauled up vertically, before dropping down again! 

Minimum height requirement of 95cm

Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs

Go on an intrepid adventure through Arendelle on a sleigh. 

Tip: This ride is fun and all, but it only goes on for less than a minute. We wouldn’t recommend queuing for a long time.

Minimum height requirement of 102cm

Hyperspace Mountain

Shoot through constellations and race through outer space in this fast-speed rollercoaster. Rebel X-wing starfighters and Imperial TIE fighters are engaged in battle — will you make it out alive? 

Ironman Experience

Don a pair of 3D glasses, and hold on tight to your seats as IronMan takes you on an adventure. We really like how this ride is set in Hong Kong, and even inserts Stark Tower into the city skyline. How cool is that?

Minimum height requirement of 112cm

Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars 

This is, in our opinion, the best ride in the park. This mine train rollercoaster is full of surprises, and even goes backwards at some point!

Minimum height requirement of 120cm

RC Racer

Defy gravity as you zoom along a U-shaped track — over and over again!
