You may have traversed the world over the seas, maybe even across the ocean but have you travelled the world underwater? Situated within the Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Aquaria KLCC is an aquarium housing 5,000 aquatic and land bound creatures from around the globe, from tropical waters to the Atlantic Ocean. The Red-bellied Piranha, coral reef fishes, star fish, otters, angelfishes, stingrays and tiger sharks, are just some of the many residents.

Sitting within limestone caves, Batu Caves might not be your typical Hindu temple but with its maze of caves, lofty ceiling and array of colorful idols, statues and paintings, it makes quite an arresting sight. The Temple Cave that sits atop a flight of more than 200 steps, the Dark Cave that’s accessible half-way up the steep stairs and the Ramayana Cave are quite popular spots. Beware on your climb up, for groups of monkeys often await to ambush the unsuspecting visitor.

    The Museum of Illusions is a quirky little museum featuring over 10 interactive exhibits, each one offering up fascinating illusions that turn even adults into excited little kids. Some of the showcases include Optical Illusions, The Vortex Tunnel and The Anti-gravity Room.

    Aside from taking a reprieve from the busy bee life and strolling through the various gardens, there’s much to do on the landscaped hills of Perdana Botanical Gardens (formerly Lake Gardens), one of the oldest parks in Kuala Lumpur, as the garden is home to several attractions. The National Monument, Butterfly Park, Bird Park and National Planetarium, are some of the places that might interest you.

    Kuala Lumpur’s iconic landmark, the Petronas Twin Towers standing at 88-storeys high are the world’s tallest twin towers. The two-storey Skybridge that sits between the two towers on the 41st floor provides a spectacular view of the sprawling city below. But if that is not enough height for you, the Observation Deck on the 86th view provides a grand bird’s eye view of the cityscape. The floor also has exhibits about the tower and its history.

    When you're strolling around KLCC, visit the man-made Lake Symphony and enjoy two musical fountains displaying over 150 unique programmed animations in a magical performance of sound and water. Make sure to come by when the sun sets, as the show starts at 8 PM.
