1. Dive Into Fun at National Museum of Singapore’s A Whale of a Tale Playground

Venue: National Museum of Singapore
Dates: 11 Oct 2025, 2 pm - 6 pm
Admission: Free

Get ready to have a whale of a time at the National Museum of Singapore’s new intergenerational playground, A Whale of a Tale. In celebration of the playground's launch and the National Museum's 138th anniversary, the museum grounds will be transformed for one day only into a carnival of fun and play for all ages.

At the heart of the celebrations is 'A Whale of a Tale', an intergenerational playground that draws inspiration from the museum's early zoological collection and Singapore's familiar mosaic playgrounds. Families can look forward to an array of activities, including carnival game booths, scavenger hunts, drop-in crafts, and roving circus acts. To encourage intergenerational bonding, don't miss the Playground Design Mosaic Tray workshop, where participants can sketch their own playground design and turn it into a colourful mosaic on an A5 wooden tray.

No playground experience is complete without treats! Cool down with a cup of Milo from everyone’s all-time favourite Milo van, snack on some Kacang Puteh, or redeem a free ice cream at the museum after completing the scavenger hunt.

Admission to the playground and programmes are free of charge while the intergenerational workshop will be a limited ticketed event.

2. Join the Trick-or-Treat Family Fun at National Gallery Singapore

Venue: National Gallery Singapore

Trick-or-Treat Family Fun offers a lighter take on Halloween, blending art with play. Held in the Expression Workshop room at the Gallery’s Keppel Centre for Arts Education (KCAE), children will design their own “Monster-Builders" boxes before embarking on a trick-or-treat trail through selected exhibition spaces. With a playful map in hand, they’ll discover artworks and collect sweet surprises from Gallery staff along the way, ending with refreshments at Bakery Brera Café.

  • Make your own Monster Builders box Workshop (60 mins)
  • Trick-or-Treat Trail through Gallery exhibition spaces (30 mins)
  • Follow a playful map to discover selected artworks
  • Collect candies from friendly ghosts (the Gallery’s Front-of-House) stationed near selected artworks
  • Tea Break at Bakery Brera Café to wrap up the adventure

Workshops and activities are designed for children from 3 to 12 years old. Families are encouraged to attend in costume to share in the festive spirit.
