This year's festival features an immersive Journey to the West experience, weaving a spellbinding narrative through stunning lantern displays. Families will encounter the legendary Monkey King and his companions, crafted with breathtaking artistry and innovative lighting. Each installation, from the dramatic Five Elements Mountain to the mystical Spider Demon Cave, tells a chapter of this beloved Chinese classic, turning a simple walk into an unforgettable adventure for both you and your little explorers.

Lights by the Lake is a full-blown festival of wonder, art, and community. Not just the light installation, families can expect many fun and exciting happenings too. Here are some of the key experiences not to be missed:
The "Journey to the West" Lantern Displays

Get ready to have your camera ready! The centrepiece of the festival is a series of incredible, larger-than-life lanterns that are works of art in themselves. Handcrafted to perfection, these beautiful displays will take you on a magical trip, perfectly blending folklore with modern design.
Beyond the centrepiece, be ready to explore other enchanting displays including Chang'e's Moonlit Garden at the Stone Boat (Chinese Garden), the touching story of Little Mei at Resthouse Pond (Japanese Garden), and the serene Blossoms Beneath the Moon installation at the Floral Garden (Japanese Garden).
Mesmerising Light and Projection Shows

Beyond the static displays, the gardens will come alive with dynamic light and projection shows. At the Chinese Garden, the Cloud Pagoda will be illuminated with a a spectacular canvas of light, creating mesmerising patterns that dance across its elegant structure and the Sunken Garden comes alive with a stunning multicoloured light display.
The Cloud Pagoda Light Show will run every 30mins from 7.30 pm while the Sunken Garden Illumination will be available throughout the festival opening timings.
Vibrant Cultural Performances and Workshops
Engage your senses with a variety of performances and interactive workshops that celebrate culture and art.

Theatre of Moon by Arts Fission is a wellness dance performance that unfolds along the waterside boardwalks at the Reflection Pond of the Japanese Garden, offering a serene and beautiful experience. Happening on 26 and 27 Sep from 6.30 pm to 7 pm and 8 pm to 8.30 pm each night, the performance offers the audience a calm moment of intimate reprieve through the wellness of arts encounters.
Meanwhile, the Science Centre Singapore invites you and your children to the Astronomy Open House at the Water Lily Pavilion to learn about the cosmos and craft your very own constellation-inspired lantern. The open house happens on 3 and 4 Oct from 7 pm to 10 pm.
There will also be captivating performances by talented local artists and vibrant cultural showcases happening at the Wave Plaza. Fringe activities will take place on selected nights (27 and 28 Sep, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11 and 12 Oct) from 7 pm to 9 pm, let the rhythm and energy of diverse musical traditions enhance your magical evening under the lanterns.
Rockestra Returns to Jurong Lake Gardens

The 24th edition of Rockestra will take place on 11 Oct at the Ficus Lawn. From 6.30 pm till late, get ready for a night featuring a spectacular line-up of local artistes performing a selection of popular Mandarin and English songs.
A Feast for the Senses (And Your Tummy!)

No festival is complete without delicious food! A bustling food market at Lakeside Field will offer a range of delectable treats to enjoy as you wander through the gardens.
