3. Online Exhibitions

Faith Beauty Love Hope - Into 2021

Venue: ACM Website
Fee: Free

Visit Faith Beauty Love Hope - Our Stories, Your ACM wherever you are — virtually! View a virtual version of our Faith Beauty Love Hope exhibition from the safety of your home.

Faith Beauty Love Hope – Our Stories, Your ACM was a show held in ACM's Special Exhibitions Gallery from 23 December 2020 to 28 February 2021. It featured objects from ACM’s collection selected by museum staff and other stakeholders. They then each wrote personal reflections on the objects they selected.

Many of these objects have since returned to the permanent galleries. With the aim to encourage everyone to continually reflect and celebrate our strengths in this time of challenges and flux, the Museum is continuing to share the themes and stories of the exhibition with visitors through the activities and experiences below:

1. Virtual Tour Of The Exhibition

Visit Faith Beauty Love Hope - Our Stories, Your ACM wherever you are — virtually!

View a virtual version of our Faith Beauty Love Hope exhibition from the safety of your home. The virtual gallery even includes the interactive murals that were displayed in our Level 2 Foyer space.

Due to the low lighting in the special exhibition, the colours in the virtual gallery may not look quite the same as in the ACM galleries. Click on “Photos of the Exhibition” menu option for a more accurate representation of the objects.

View gallery in full screen here.

2. Trail Booklet

Download the family friendly trail to guide you through the exhibition. Select the "booklet" function before printing on A4 paper, then fold the pages in half to make your very own booklet. Use it while viewing the Virtual Reality scan of the Faith Beauty Love Hope exhibition from when it was in our Special Exhibitions Gallery!

Suitable for ages 9 and up.

3. Colouring Sheets

Print out and have fun with the FAITH & BEAUTY or LOVE & HOPE colouring sheets. You can also colour them digitally. The original mural can be viewed in the Museum's Foyer space within the virtual gallery above. Remember to tag @acm_sg for a chance to get featured on ACM Instagram

4. In-Museum Gallery Trail (On-site)

Read stories related to the objects on display as you explore the Museum's permanent galleries.

Look for pink Faith Beauty Love Hope labels, then scan the QR codes to read a story about the selected object and others via our virtual museum host – Allie. Learn more about ACM objects through the thoughts of our staff and affiliates.

Stop in at our lobby at the end of your visit to share a story about your favourite object and view the favourites of others!

Virtual Tour Of Materials And Design

ACM's third-floor galleries are focused on decorative art, and are collectively themed Materials and Design. The two new galleries, Fashion and Textiles, and Jewellery, together with the refreshed Ceramics gallery, comprise a display of over 400 precious and finely crafted masterpieces, telling stories of Asian identities, histories and cultures.

1. [NEW] Tour The Jewellery Gallery With Virtual Museum Host - Allie!

The virtual display of our Jewellery gallery is now enhanced with Virtual Museum Host (Beta) - Allie who provides an introductory tour of the space, navigation help around the gallery and responses to any questions you might have. She learns from your visits to improve her suggestions — so do share your feedback to Allie, she would appreciate them!

2. Fashion And Textiles Gallery: Explore Asian Identities Through Dress And Adornment

The Fashion and Textiles gallery presents a diverse range of fashion and textiles through periodically-rotating displays, outlining how identities and cross-cultural exchanges are revealed through dress.

3. Ceramics Gallery: Gain Insight Into Asian Materials

The third gallery, Ceramics, presents a comprehensive survey of the hardy yet fragile material of Chinese ceramics, in a display that features ceramic masterworks from the Neolithic period through the Qing dynasty. In particular, ACM’s excellent collection of white Dehua porcelain – known historically as blanc de chine – will be on display.
