From its humble beginnings at Shaw Tower on Beach Road in 2005 to its present home on Middle Road, Tom's Palette has been serving unique gelato flavours to many of its fans.
The New Space
Located at Middle Road, the cosy rejuvenated space of Tom’s Palette draws inspiration from a vibrant artist studio, and is decked in teak elements as well as eye-catching artwork by local artists. The inviting space seats up to 40 customers and features both sofa seats for cosy gatherings and an organically contoured table that doubles up as a showcase area for gelato-making workshops.
The new space offers a cool environment for families to try the over 200 unique gelato flavours in its library. But you may have to visit several times as there will "only" be 36 flavours at each time!
Favourites and Mainstays
If your favourite is one of the following, you won't worry about not getting them each time you visit! These nine time-tested options are crowd favourites such as Granny's Favourite – a fusion of Chocolate Malt gelato with Cookie Dough and Chocolate Chip; velvety Rum & Raisin – featuring homemade rum paste perfectly complemented by the delightful chewiness of rum-soaked raisins aged for a month, as well as Salted Caramel Cheesecake.
For those seeking dairy and egg-free options, the exquisite Italian Dark Chocolate crafted with water, sugar, and 56% dark chocolate, offers indulgence in every spoonful.
And the refreshing Kochi Yuzu will make a comeback in October.
A New Menu
The latest addition of Maple Pecan captures the spirit of autumn perfectly in a harmonious blend of pure maple syrup-soaked pound cake, irresistibly crunchy toasted pecans, and fior di latte gelato.
Those who are unsure about what to have, the Tom’s Palette ($29.80) is what you need! It consists of six delectable flavours that change alongside the selection of gelato for the day - its like an omakase for ice cream!
Look Out for Unconventional Flavours
Tom’s Palette reimagines traditional boundaries with creative flavours such as the soothing Pipagao that delights with its sweet, minty and herbal flavour profiles, as well as the eyebrow-raising Nasi Lemak that stars coconut, lemongrass and pandan infused glutinous rice gelato.
Enjoy the refreshing sweetness of Hangzhou Chrysanthemum crafted with quality buds steeped in custard, the wholesome Taiwanese Black Sesame, starring high-quality roasted Taiwanese black sesame paste, is truly a treat one should not miss. Soya Bean Youtiao encapsulates the iconic traditional breakfast combination in a scoop!
